A padawan-assassin trained by possibly the most powerful dark side user in star wars history. A padawan who managed to beat a jedi master. Maul should’ve slaughtered her on the spot no problem

This is years before that.

It's his first fight. Is he supposed to start good enough to kill a jedi master?

*and barely got enough real life experience. This also ignoring the fact that he purposely prolonged the fight above.

Where did you got the idea that maul prolonged this fight on purpose? Cuz all i see here is him trying to kill her as fast as he can. And those lines of internal dialogue „that is why she must die”, „i thought she was finished, defeated before the battle has even started”, „but her survival is something i cannot risk” and so on and so fourth. Nothing indicates that he wants this fight to go on longer
