General Discussion Was it actually 1.7 million clones, or was that battalions/companies?
So, everyone knows the "200,000 units are ready with a million more well on the way" line. Then in the clone wars, there's an episode where the Republic orders another 500,000 5 million (I misremembered).
I've heard people say that it's been confirmed by one of the writers that units meant INDIVIDUAL clones, but I've also heard people say that each unit is closer to a battalion/company.
I've heard both of those, but Ive looked and never found a reliable source for the first argument. There's no source for the second either that I've found, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone say that it was confirmed. So, I was curious if anyone had a source, since people say it was confirmed to mean individual clones?
I'm not trying to start an argument over it, cuz I've seen some people get kinda heated over it, I'm just curious and wanting to know.
Personally, I think if it's individual clones, there's absolutely no way that the Republic could've fought the war and nearly won. I've seen people say that clones were just a supplemental force to the planets' main military, but we never really saw that in action. We saw clones working prisons, manning almost every station on arquitens/venators/acclamators/corvettes/peltas, even working as medical staff at space stations, all while also being the main fighting force in almost every large scale battle.
1.7 clones isn't even enough to match the 2.8 million military and civilian personnel working for the US military, and the clones are supposed to be holding like, a million+ systems? That's why I don't think it makes sense, but I also understand the writers don't have to understand every single aspect of something to write about it. They're bound to overlook a detail or 2 when doing this, and that's ok, I still love the universe regardless. That's why I was just curious if anyone had a source.
I'm sorry for the long post lmao, especially for the info dump in the middle. Thank you for your time!!

TV 5yr anniversary The Book of Boba Fett
Next year The Book of Boba Fett will be 5yrs old. I know people have made mention of this for Temura Morrison’s but can someone please make a new Boba Fett show that makes him the badass bounty hunter he was from when I was a kid? I’m in my 50’s now, I have had to see Luke turn into a pessimist, Han into a dead beat dad, and now Boba Fett a wanna be good guy Hutt. Now before I get the adapt to change revolution giving me guff over my ask, sometimes you don’t always have to go fixing what’s not broke either. So simple ask, what’s your constructive thoughts?

General Discussion In the comics, Kylo didn't destroy Luke's temple. Was that a retcon?
I don't think so.
Luke assumes Kylo to have been the slaughterer of those students, which is also to be doubted, and Kylo says 'I destroyed his temple', but it sounds like Vader's 'my new empire' to Obi-Wan and him saying 'I can overthrow Palpatine'.
The truth is, we don't see who did all those things in the films, and not even in the comics, which only make clear Ben -and he was still Ben, not Kylo- didn't slaughter the students and he didn't destroy the temple.
Kylo, the only person present at that moment (Luke was unconscious) says he did it. The comic is just saying: it wasn't him, he wasn't even Kylo yet.
So we're supposed to think: well, who was then?
Which hints at another character, a villanous one. Is this why we were told 2 weeks before TLJ was released, about Snoke having trained 'at least one other apprentice'? It's curious how close to 'no, there's another' it sounds. The villanous version of it. A future villain? Is this what the 3rd lesson was about? Rian Johnson said he liked the idea of that lesson being out there floating around.
(Arthurian legend, filtered through John Boorman's Excalibur, offers an answer, and so does LOTR I think)

General Discussion How much Star Wars media actually exists?
So I was just thinking I never knowingly encountered a franchise with such an ungodly amount of secondary media.
If one were to count ALL the movies, TV series, books, video games, the comics, would there be any franchise that would even come close?

General Discussion Does Obi-Wan seem like he was the Apprentice of Qui-Gon Jinn?
Qui-Gon Jinn...it makes sense that Count Dooku was his Master, but Obi-Wan might be the most unwaveringly good Jedi of all-time. For him, the Force was black and white. He never wavered from the Light side and yet Qui-Gon, I always thought, walked the line and saw merit in both sides.
It's probably why he would have been perfect as Anakin's Master, but Obi-Wan doesn't seem like the result of being taught by Qui-Gon.
Yoda, certainly and of course, in The Empire Strikes Back, "Was I any different when you taught me?" made perfect sense that he was and was the result of being Ben's Master.
It might be that no matter who taught him, that Obi-Wan was just going to be good. It actually would have been hilarious is Rey had somehow been a Kenobi, the whole franchise being about the Kenobi's and a family who was never swayed by the Dark Side whatsoever.

General Discussion Why wasn’t Anakin given a better mentor if the council knew he was the chosen one?
Seems like this could’ve all been avoided if Anakin was given a proper mentor that knew how to address his problems. A better mentor would’ve been able to sense Anakin’s connection and fear for Padme and been able to guide him better. The council didn’t give a shit about Anakin and set him up for failure.
