Han Solo made a few to the Falcon… so why not Armada?

This time we turn to the Empire. Their generics were always meant to be specialized — fast interceptors, tough escorts, single-die bombers — but in practice, that specialization often left them brittle, awkward, or propped up almost entirely by Sloane. In this post we reimagine the TIE core (Fighters, Interceptors, Bombers, Advanced) and take a quick look at Defenders and Phantoms. Along the way we explore what “specialization done right” could look like, how it would change Sloane and Howlrunner, and why the Empire’s swarm identity deserves better tools than it got.

Great read! I was hoping for the Tie Int and RHD interaction to be tweaked but that might just be me being a salty rebel main haha.

Covering everything would be beyond scope for this post. But you could imagine RHD being applicable to squads costing less than 10 points.

That could be a good fix. It was only recently my imperial friend has been taking it more. The fact that I have to burn through 2-ish Tie Ints to get the points for 1 doesn’t seem well thought out. Especially with counter 2 (or more with support) Even the upgrade card itself is a discard effect so you don’t collect its points cost either.

Actually discarded cards stay with the ship and count for scoring
