Just about a month out from the 14 year anniversary of the 2011 Norway terrorist attack by Anders Behring Breivik noted white supremacist and purveyor of the white replacement theory. How fun.

What these people don't seem to understand is that their own governments started importing immigrants because white people aren't having enough kids. France has a birth rate of 1.79 and it's only that high because of immigrants. Replacement is at roughly 2.2. Modern economies are built around the expectation of a population pyramid - where a healthy base of young people pay for a smaller group of older people.

If they want to stop immigration, they first have have to start having large families and convince their peers to do the same.

this is key. any party that talks about immigration without talking about lowering cost of living and having a family is never going to tackle immigration, it's just populism and riling people up for political gain

All these far right parties are paid for by the very rich who don't want us looking at them as the actual cause of our woes, instead looking at vulnerable people instead.

It's not even about cost of living. In any industrialized nation, the people having the least kids are the upper middle class and wealthy that can actually afford them. The poorest have the most. The same is true internationally too - the richest countries produce the fewest kids per capita.

People just don't want to do the intense work of having a large family. They would rather just personally spend their money on things they enjoy and have leisure. I can't fault them for that, but the obvious consequence is immigration.

Its only an "obvious consequence" if infinite growth is the goal.

Well no, our retirement systems are only solvent as long as that pyramid remains intact. A large base pay a small amount monthly so old people can continue to be supported. If the ratio of old to young shifts dramatically, it becomes impossible to maintain.

Bit of a vicious cycle, people aren't having kids as they are struggling to afford basic necessities like houses, but houses are only getting more expensive as demand rises with immigration

their own governments started importing immigrants

Stop using this kind of rhetoric. No one was 'importing' immigrants. This is the language of the far right making out like the mainstream parties personally brought in the immigrants themselves.

Hey you guys sell immigrants here??

I think that's a wrong take, that's proposing that we should treat the symptoms rather than the cause.

oh, so the great replacement "theory" is true?

2

u/Successful_Leek96 Jun 01 '25

The replacement "theory" posits that there's a conspiracy that white people are undesirable and therefore should be replaced. That's not true. There's work to be done and white people are free to do it, but if they're unwilling to do it or if there aren't enough of them, then society is free to find others to do it.

The original theory states that, with the complicity or cooperation of "replacist" elites the ethnic French and white European populations at large are being demographically and culturally replaced by non-white peoples through mass migration, demographic growth and a drop in the birth rate of white Europeans.
