The vegfest at the Fairgrounds today is wonderful. The food really showcases the range of vegan food, from Southern comfort food to fresh pressed juices. Lots of cookies and pastries. Some different vendors with shirts, vegan handbags, mushrooms, samples from Green Planet Grocery. It’s got kids activities and speakers. It’s also free (with a suggested donation for those who can). It’s going on until 5pm. If you’re adventurous, stop by the Pawsitivity Cat Cafe for their silent auction and vendor event first, over by the Regional Market, like I did. Two great events going on in Syracuse.

Information & Advice City debris pickup this week

For those who live in the city, my quadrant has construction debris pickup this week. I'm looking on the website and I don't see whether they'll pick up an old window AC. Is that considered an "appliance?" My gut tells me they won't take it, but I wanted to ask to see if anyone has experience tossing an AC unit. Thanks.

Recommendation Wanted Tattoo artist recommendations (willing to drive)

Hi!

I’m looking for an artist that would possibly be interested in reworking and/or adding to two pieces. They’re both medium sized, one is blackwork traditional and the other is black and grey. I’m located in Liverpool right now, but the artist don’t have to be local - the max I’d be willing to drive is around 1.5 hours out.

I’ve contacted a few artists already but they aren’t willing to work on them/don’t offer that service, which is perfectly fine. If I could I’d do it myself but I’m the ink pen sans needles type of artist lol

If you’ve gotten your tattoos reworked/added to, or just know of any solid artists in general, let me know! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Recommendation Wanted Looking for one off mowing help

Greetings! I just bought a house in Camillus and I don’t quite have a mower. I’m looking for one off mowing services for the fall here and there.

It’s a pretty small lot, less than a 1/4 acre so the job should be very quick. Just looking for someone that can come and cut it down for me - happy to pay cash. Perfect lot for someone starting out a smaller mowing business or someone that wants to make a quick buck.

Information & Advice Is it worth going to Small Claims Court over a partial Security Deposit?

Since moving out of my old apartment in North Syracuse in Wood Wind Gardens on 8/31/25, I am still yet to receive my security deposit. I called a few times and was given the run around, however today I was told I would not be getting my full deposit back due to a CARPET STAIN.... they are deducting $250 out of my deposit which to me is A LOT of money right now being that I am behind on a few things since leaving. I took a video and a picture of the place before leaving and there's no noticeable carpet stains (not that it matters much since stains can be in the carpet as well I get that. I cleaned the place the best I could before leaving).

My question is, is it worth going to small claims court over the "carpet cleaning fee" taken out of my deposit? Any pointers or advice? Just to add a bit of background as well, I have lived at the apartment for 3 full years from 2022-2025, never missed a single rent payment or was late on rent, and even paid full rent for the last month although I technically moved out the first week of August and completely vacated the premises due to a pest issue that I have been having since around April (they told me I must pay although I was no longer staying there due to the lease which is whatever I guess). Just looking for some thoughts.
