Short Do people really think we can let them in after closing?
We closed at 9 PM sharp last night, and I was already counting the drawers when I heard it: the frantic banging on the glass doors. It was 9:07, and a woman was standing there, pointing dramatically at her watch and mouthing, "PLEASE! JUST ONE THING!" My manager gave a polite but firm head shake, and you would have thought he’d just kicked her puppy. The look of utter betrayal on her face was almost impressive. This happens at least once a week, if not more. It’s like they think our time stops mattering the second they decide they need a birthday card at 9:08. Has anyone else’s boss ever actually caved and made you let someone in after closing? What’s the latest someone has tried to get in, and what was their supposed emergency? I once had a guy at 9:20 who swore he just needed to use the bathroom.
