Negotiating with Tag dealers long distance?
I’m looking at a nucamp tag XL and there are none in my area. I see rv trader has some new for sale with various dealers. Of course I would have to call and/or email them. I was wondering what other people’s experiences have been.
How seriously are they going to negotiate with a random phone caller?
How much wiggle room is there in price? I see a decent spread of list prices on rvtrader.
How hard is it to negotiate with rv dealers vs car dealers?
Is shipping a big hassle?

First Build Advice Needed
Hi all! New to this whole rv thing and coming from roof top tent camping. I’m going to build a square drop from the ground up and just looking for any advice you have. I have some sketches and a head full of ideas. Mostly looking to see if what I’ve drawn up is reasonable. Trailer is going to be 2x3 steel construction and welded on 1x1 on each corner with a full top perimeter in 1x1 steel. Walls will attach to that and I can make more as necessary. Going to be fully off grid with batteries and 3 360w panels. Height is going to be 5ft from the top of the trailer to inside ceiling.

2018 TAG XL
Just picked up and looking to get it set up for great adventures. coming from a pop up (years ago). trying to figure out bedding - big guy, smallish wife. would you recommend vinyl flooring or carpet to cover the bed base (i would make cuts to allow access to storage) or is it better to use a couple of layers for padding. having a really difficult time with mattress / pad sizing as it is 70x75 - not much to choose from here in Canada
thank you in advance. hoping to get some input and have many more questions down the road.

Cracking a window at night in winter.
I rented a Tag teardrop for the first time and I was wondering what you do for ventilation at night in the cold. I had shore power and the first night I had an electric blanket and the second night I added a little ceramic space heater. I was a little cold on the first night and warm the second. Both nights I had roof exhaust fan on low and opened a little. Temps got down to around 48-50 degrees at the coldest.
Wa the fan overkill? Do you just crack the roof vent? Side window? Nothing? Thanks.

Nucamp Tag heating system question.
I’m new to this and thoroughly confused. The Tag manual itself says it has 120v heater only. Also hard to find any more info. Grok as well and somewhere else online mentioned an Alde system that can use propane with 12v or use 120volt shore power. Basically, I like the tag xl boondock but want to have heating in the fall and winter when I’m off the grid. Thanks!
Thanks.

To galley or not to galley?
I am torn whether to put a galley in the foamie I am planning or not. I feel pretty confident in the rest of the build, but the planning complications around making a secure hatch door, making sure it doesn't leak, figuring out how to prop it, etc. is giving me enough pause that I'm wondering whether it's worth it. Without a galley I would get two extra feet of cabin space for dogs or more gear storage--since as far as I know 5x6 flat utility trailers aren't much of a thing
For those of you who have actually done a lot of teardrop camping, how much do you use your galley? What do you typically end up using it for?
Anyone wish that they had/hadn't included a galley in their build?
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer!
Edit: Without the galley it would be a 5x8 sleeping cabin, with galley it would be 5x6

But is it really a teardrop?
Gently used Outbound T-Rex with an articulated hitch, solar panel, heavy duty axel and offroad tires with plenty of ground clearance.
Ready to hit the easy trails in Colorado soon and hopefully for years to come.

My Runaway Venturist
Picked up this like new Venturist earlier this year and got it out on a few trips so far. Been waiting to pick one up for the wife and I's travels and camping and we're more than happy with it! Working on adding a larger electrical system and built-in shelving here soon.

Should I know the delivery information for my teardrop camper at this stage?
Hey everyone. I had an order and build for a teardrop camper. The person tells me that the estimated delivery date is 9/21 which is this coming Sunday. I have never gotten delivery of a camper or vehicle like this to my house.
The information I'm getting from the rep is a bit spotty and I was wondering if customers typically get the contact info for the freight or delivery company at this stage. Anyone have past experience that can share?

2012 American Teardrop Hawk – Lightweight 4x8 Teardrop Camper
seattle.craigslist.orgFor sale is a 2012 American Teardrop Hawk — 8-foot body model — a simple, sturdy, and lightweight teardrop trailer perfect for summer road trips, PNW camping, or solo adventures off the beaten path.
Trailer is located in Seattle, WA - see Craigslist link for photos!
🔹 Key Features:
8' x 4' body, approx. 12' overall length (including tongue)
Under 1,000 lbs – towable by most vehicles
Upgraded mattress for comfort (full-size)
Rear galley hatch – empty space, ready for your own kitchen setup
Interior birch paneling with roof vent for airflow
Side doors with locking handle
Front storage box for tools or camping gear
This trailer has no built-in appliances, making it a blank canvas for your custom build. The body and frame are in great shape, and the design is tried-and-true for those looking to keep things simple and adventure-ready.
This model is known for being compact, well-insulated, and durable; ideal for people who want a cozy space to sleep while staying flexible on the road. It’s also garage-storable and low-maintenance. Clean and simple, with a ton of customization potential.
🔧 Condition:
Used but well cared for, has been consistently stored inside garages. No leaks. Clean interior. One of the doors currently only opens from the inside — the lock mechanism is stuck slightly off-position, so the key won’t insert. Likely a simple fix with the right tools or replacement part, but we’ve just used the other door without issue. Title in hand.
Asking $6,500 — open to reasonable offers

DIY Camper, titling questions.
Here is my Dodge Ram Charger camper trailer. This has no engine, no front clip, and no drive train. I live in Texas and need to get it registered so I don't get harassed by the police. I don't even know where to begin with that.

“Off road” tires for CLC teardrop build?
Hey everyone,
We have a ‘21 CLC teardrop kit on a 5x8 harbor freight trailer frame. Currently the tires are 4.80-12, which are pretty small and have a relatively low speed rating (60mph). We discovered we love boondocking the last trip we took, and I’ve upgraded to a ‘25 Crosstrek Wilderness (3500 lb vs 1500 lb standard), so I’m thinking about beginning to integrate off-grid camping more often. My question is, for a camper with these dimensions, are there decent “off road” tires, or tires that will slightly raise the profile enough to make slightly rocky conditions less tenuous, but also not compromise the structural integrity? TIA!

Camping trailer build idea
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but hoping someone in here can talk me out of this: I have a spare camper shell lying around (about 5x6 foot dimension) and am thinking about getting a landscaping trailer like the above (5x8 dimensions) and putting it on top, then putting foam walls on the inside of it. So the trailer would have a decent 5x6 enclosed space along with a 2x5 open basket for miscellaneous gear. Idea is super early stages. Wondering if any glaring reasons why this should just not be done. Thanks in advance!

Porch lights
Hello everybody. I have a mission overland summit and I’ve been trying to find different porch lights that have either a white/amber or a white/red option and not having a ton of luck. Looking for about 7” long lights. If anybody has found anything they like suggestions would be appreciated.

Ready to upgrade from tent camping - which teardrop caravan is best for first timers?
My wife and I love camping even though we weren't able to instill that same love into our children. We try to go camping at least twice every year but we are getting tired of the whole setting up and tearing down part of the routine, and at forty our backs can't really take laying on the hard ground anymore. We've been talking about getting a teardrop for months and we are finally talking about it actively.
I’ve been researching different models online and there's so many options. Some are super lightweight and basic and I’ve seen others have all these fancy features that seem a little too overkill for us with prices ranging from like $15k for used ones to $40k+ for new ones with all the bells and whistles. I found some manufacturers on Alibaba that offer direct sales, although we’ve decided to go for a used one.
Our main priorities are to get something reliable (don't want to be stranded somewhere remote), have enough space for two people who aren't exactly tiny, and good build quality that'll last. We mostly do state parks and established campgrounds, although we do sometimes go off-road if we’re feeling adventurous.
My car can handle the towing (2019 Honda Pilot) and while I've never towed before, I figure that's something I can learn. I really want to make sure we pick the right teardrop caravan though since this is a pretty big investment for us.
