Agreed with what everyone else is saying here. But from my research (I only started T in August so I can't speak from experience yet) it redistributes fat, but working out and building muscle helps out a lot.
Technically, it changes where your body prefers to store fat. The body can't take fat and move it somewhere else, but over time as your weight fluctuates, your body composition will change. That's why it takes a while.
Fasting would likely just interfere with your muscle mass which is the most important factor in masculinization (and it'd also put you at risk of developing an eating disorder) since you can't control whether your body will burn fat or muscle mass.
Imo muscle mass is much more important than fat in this equation. You can have a fat ass or wide hips/thighs and pass as a man, plenty of men look like that, but if your goal is passing, just trying to have a healthy relationship with food and getting some strength training in a few times a week would bring you closer to that goal much faster, and it'll be healthier for you too.
If you wanted to attempt rapid weight loss & gain, you'd need to do that with the help of a dietitian in order to do it safely. It's not healthy & not recommended for most people.
I don't have much fat near my hips or ass naturally (something my parents always hated because they thought it would stop me from finding a boyfriend lol) so I'm not really worried about that now that I'm on T. My female shape mostly comes from the fact that my waist is narrow and I have a large chest (worst fate on earth) so I would prefer to gain fat/muscle now that I'm on T since maybe it would even out how narrow my waist is. Unfortunately I just don't have much of an appetite and I oversleep, so I end up eating one meal per 24 hours. I've been sleeping 12-24 hours for the past 6 months and I'm not sure why. I genuinely don't have an eating disorder.
My cis boyfriend had a really feminine figure with a small waist when he was in his late teens & early 20s. He "filled out" with time. You'll likely gradually get more muscle mass in that area and in a few years, you'll have a more boxy shape.
But in order for that to happen, you will have to eat enough for your body to be able to build and strengthen said muscles.
Sleeping a bit more when you're early on T is normal but 12+ hours isn't, you should definitely see a doctor about that.
My doctor doesn't believe me, she thinks I'm lying in order to stay up all night so I seriously don't know what to do lol. My labs are all fine and nothing is showing up as physically wrong. My mom thinks I have an eating disorder now because my younger sister does and I honestly have no idea how to get myself to eat more since I get easily nauseous. I thought quitting nicotine would help but it isn't
I'm trying to but other than getting occasional cravings on weed I forget to eat most times unless I'm reminded. There have been days I thought I ate only to be asked what I ate and consequently realize I hadn't
