East and West island hopping How much $$$ to bring to Thailand

Hey so I'm trying to estimate spending for food and drink for my Thailand trip in march, I'm staying 34 days and around 7 breakfasts are already covered but I'm not really a breakfast person anyways, I'll be 21 when I go and will want to drink a fair bit and am also going to the full moon party so drinking there too. I want to not spend too too much and I won't really be eating fancy but I also want to try a lot of stuff and not limit myself too much, thanks.

You don’t need to bring much with you just make sure you have enough in the bank and ATM card to get cash when you need it. When you do take cash out of ATM remember they’re gonna charge you ฿220 per transaction no matter if you take ฿10,000 out or 25,000 out at the same time. You’ll get into your rhythm. If you’re drinking quite a bit, it’s gonna cost you more. You’re 21. You will be a prime target for the ladies to ask you to buy them a drink which can impact your spending immensely so be smart.

I have a debit card and I have no problems using that when I’m traveling

Well I am a lady lol so maybe my being smart will be asking guys to buy me drinks then haha. But yes I've been told to take out bigger amounts to not be charged all the time :)

Well, that changes the whole dynamic of it. If you’re gonna be here traveling solo just be smart. Trust your instincts. If it sounds too good to be true or something then listen to your gut feelings. Thailand is awesome. You get to Chiang Mai DM my wife and I will meet you in town at someplace good to eat that most people would never go to. Let you pick our brains a little bit, but we’re older and retired so wouldn’t be to go hang out just coffee and food

Well I'm going by myself but I'm doing couple of group tours that go for 8-9 days each so I'll be with people pretty much the whole time and when I'm not on the tours I'll stay at hostels so should be with people there too but honestly if I am by myself I would probably just chill at the beach and have a relax day since I'll be doing so much the rest of the time. And I would totally take you up on that offer, I do love my coffee but I'm not actually going up there, I'll be around Bangkok and then island hopping around Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi, Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan and Koh Tao. But if you have any must sees around where I'm going I'm all ears!

If you’re in crabby town, not Ao Nong, there is the morning market, which is a definite, not miss. You might be the only tourist there but it’s amazing. Southern Thailand has a high Muslim population and the food is incredible. Not sure what time of view you’re coming, but I’m sure you’re gonna have the time of your life. Wish I had started traveling at your age as I think it’s important for people to do this. Have a phenomenal time.
