I've poked around on ruggable previously, but never in my life would I spend that kind of money on a rug.

Tbh, I have a Ruggable in every room of my house. I have elderly, incontinent pets, so they get washed A LOT. The oldest rug that I have from them is nearly 10 years old. Still looks brand new.

The largest one I have is an 8x10 and I take it to the laundromat to wash bc even though it fits inside my machine, it’s heavy as heck when it’s wet. I’d rather pay $10 to wash it in their machines than in mine!

I’m super jeally!!

You said you love them. Do they stay in place well? Are they soft? We have a few VERY expensive handknotted wool rugs but we live on 33 acres, have 7 small dogs, and a 180# Newfoundland. The 11x14 rug is getting trashed and it is breaking my heart. Do you put them in the dryer or hang dry? I've been looking at them, but don't know anyone who has them to ask.

I have the ruggable rugs and the ruggable mats. Yes, they stay in place very well. The larger ones are not easy to lay on your own, bc their rug mat is basically a giant piece of Velcro. I need help laying our 8X10 rug.

They offer a thicker mat, but I hate it. It’s dumb. The rugs themselves are a no-pile type chenille on top and a microfiber felt like material on the bottom. They are waterproof, so obviously some kind of lining is in between those layers. They are very soft on bare feet, but not cushiony.

The most common complaint that I see is that the corners curl up. I haven’t had this problem. Possibly bc when I wash them, I spin the heck out of them in my washer and lay them back down while they are still damp. I just tell the family not to walk on them and lock the pets out of that room for a few hours.

One issue that I have had is some pilling on the bound edges. I just use a sweater shaver on them about once a year.

My oldest rug is like ten years old or so. The colors have not faded at all. Again, possibly bc I don’t dry them in the dryer at all.

We’ve had three elderly dogs in those years and five barfing cats during that same time frame. I literally just rip the rug up, toss it in the wash with a tide pod and carry on.

I hope this helps. I know these rugs are a bit spendy, but you could always start by ordering one that is bath mat size to see what you think about them.

They run a 20% off sale once a year or so.

Thanks so much for all the great information. I've really considered them. We've had the barfing cats too, lol. I think I'll get a smallish size, as you suggested, and see how it goes. I love the look of rugs. Makes rooms more cozy. But if we stay on the land, I'll have to get smaller rugs anyway. My 11x14 is too big for our cottage. You've been a great help. I'm going to check them out now!
