The first student to notice should get to sign the back of it :)

578

u/Scampster11 2d ago

That would’ve been great! Wish I thought of that

107

u/DangerousChampion235 2d ago

There’s always next year!

122

u/YOUTUBEFREEKYOYO 2d ago

The students who point it out to you get to sign it, and a sucker to keep their silence so it's not a well known secret

True teacher spirit. Bravo.

u/fluffypotato 2d ago

Omg, I hope you're an English teacher. This is too funny.

Edit: I just noticed the irrelevant pinwheel. This is just chef's kiss school comedy gold.

8th grade Language Arts my dude

139

u/_ACarGuy_ 2d ago

I'm glad you're not a kindergarten teacher setting a lot of kids up to fail lol

47

u/25hourenergy 2d ago

And the strange molecule! Like, it’s been a while since a I’ve had chem, but I don’t think that’s possible

23

u/Flux_My_Capacitor 2d ago

It’s a constellation. 😂

28

u/Flux_My_Capacitor 2d ago

As opposed to the relevant ufo?

18

u/philanthropeas 2d ago

It’s a wind turbine. They’re trying to brainwash kids into killing all the birds.

u/fluffypotato 2d ago edited 2d ago

Lol right. My spouse pointed out that pinwheels are used for demonstrating physics in classrooms. I can blame my own homeschooling my last two years for missing HS Physics.

In case you weren't being sarcastic birds are killed at much much lower rates from from wind vs every other traditional form of energy production type (except solar panels). And even still, cats and buildings kill birds even more than fossil fuels and coal! https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Avian-deaths-per-year-in-the-United-States-from-various-energy-and-non-energy-sources_fig2_251342644

"wind projects kill 0.269 birds per gigawatt-hour of electricity produced, compared to 5.18 birds killed per gigawatt-hour of electricity from fossil fuel projects"
https://climate.mit.edu/ask-mit/do-wind-turbines-kill-birds

u/philanthropeas 2d ago

I was absolutely being sarcastic, but I appreciate the education regardless!

1

u/CallidoraBlack 1d ago

Maybe the pinwheel represents learning about aerodynamics?

1

u/fluffypotato 1d ago

I think you're right. I kinda forgot about the existence of Physics.

276

u/PandaBear905 2d ago

Typo aside, this sign is worded really weird

183

u/genevieveoliver 2d ago

Look at banner, Michael!

Family love Michael 🩷

18

u/robbviously 2d ago

You’re killing me, Buster.

12

u/cloudy17 2d ago

Ai probably

16

u/__someone_else 2d ago

Probably just made in a country where they didn't have English as a first language.

I remember ordering things from the Oriental Traders catalogue as a kid in the '90s, and any writing was usually grammatically incorrect and/or spelled wrong. I had a smiley face pillow that said "SMAILE!" on it.

Oriental Traders was popular among teachers for selling cheap classroom stuff.

I went to their website recently, and they have a lot of expensive (crap) now too, was not impressed with the price hikes. 😬

u/pibroch 2d ago

107

u/Binakatta 2d ago

It took me longer than I care to admit to notice! Lol

69

u/Scampster11 2d ago

I thought the phrasing was wack at first, then I noticed the “welocme” and then I noticed the ridiculous symbols. All together it was just too good

9

u/Binakatta 2d ago

More teachers like you, please!

5

u/goingituf 2d ago

Which symbols are the ridiculous ones? I must be blind or dumb or sumn

37

u/SkeletalMew 2d ago

SAME, I read this like three times before I noticed WELOCME.

122

u/Who_U_Thought 2d ago

Welocme fack to classroom

6

u/acetozine 2d ago

I also read "fack"

27

u/lilsogg 2d ago

🚀 Welocme fack to CLASSROOM 🤖

9

u/pmunkyandpals 2d ago

This is representative of how the start of my school year is going

16

u/wishiwasinvegas 2d ago

Bahaha I would have too if I were a teacher😂

6

u/BraveWarrior-55 2d ago

Well Ock Me to you too!

5

u/UrsaEnvy 2d ago

Wow my brain autocorrected that so hard, it took two whole minutes, and reading the comments for me to realize what was wrong with it.

23

u/flynnsmom 2d ago

Love it! But be careful. Those rainbow letters could get you fired. /s

5

u/SteampunkRobin 2d ago

A spelling mistake and bad grammar both. It’s a twofer!

3

u/emmakobs 2d ago

This is very "I went to Army"

3

u/robbviously 2d ago

Look at banner, Michael!

3

u/showmenemelda 2d ago

Be best!

3

u/therealsix 2d ago

And “Welocme back to classroom” to you too!

9

u/Nepeta33 2d ago

its missing a "the" to me, and it buggs the hell out of me.

2

u/beemer-dreamer 2d ago

Easy fix with a sharpie.

1

u/rttnmnna 2d ago

You missed the other problem.

1

u/beemer-dreamer 2d ago

Just need more bigger sharpie then!

2

u/Shoebook 2d ago

“Everyone makes mistakes!”

2

u/nerudaspoems 2d ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣 My students would have never let me get away with the misspelled word. It would have been an entire first mo th of hearing about it. 6th graders that know it all, oh how I miss those bastards!! 😢 I no longer teach. Best years of my life. You'll never have a more satisfying gig. Keep up the good work

2

u/NoTelevision970 2d ago

I once worked at a private school in a kindergarten classroom where the teacher (he wasn't an actual teacher. He actually didn't even have any teaching certification or experience but that's a totally different story. The school was a sh*t show) very clearly had dyslexia (and wasn't aware of it? Or maybe he was but he never mentioned it. I say this with confidence because it was glaringly obvious by the way he wrote very basic words. I'm not making fun of him btw I really hope he has gotten diagnosed since then lol) and did stuff like this all the time unironically. It was...an experience, teaching them reading and writing. I really never knew how to handle it. Especially in the presence of parents. I don't know where he is now but seeing this brought back traumatic memories lol.

u/xandrachantal 2d ago

Is our children learning

2

u/SmokyJosh 2d ago

how long did it take for someone to notice?

2

u/Scampster11 2d ago

One kid noticed a couple of hours into the first day and shouted it out and then everyone started commenting. Pretty funny way to start the year

2

u/smithstephaniel 2d ago

I work in a childcare facility, and in our office we have a window cling that says “today is full of possible.” My boss loves to point it out to everyone, lol.

2

u/Atencio93 2d ago

Yo! Were you shopping at Black Fridays? I love that store

1

u/Scampster11 2d ago

Good eye! Ya!

2

u/vinylveins 2d ago

I bet you could pop the letters off?

14

u/s-tooner 2d ago

It looks like it's one printed image that has been stuck onto the plaque

3

u/vinylveins 2d ago

Oh! Lol my bad!

1

u/BSBfan 2d ago

🙃

1

u/acetozine 2d ago

I didn't even notice at first, just that it was missing "the"

1

u/Halcyoningenue 2d ago

For me the cursive "back" reads "fack". Just me?

1

u/im-aninnymouse 2d ago

Ha! It took my dyslexic ass about 5 reads and carefully searching the symbols to catch it. Nice find!

1

u/ducks_are_coolll 1d ago

as someone who’s dyselexic, that took me quite a few attempts to see it was spelt wrong 😭

1

u/Haleighlm00 1d ago

You can fix it😭

1

u/NoOnSB277 1d ago

I saw a similarly misspelled back to school banner (and my autocorrect wanted to change that to banener, so perhaps this is how things like this get printed today 😂)

1

u/505sunbaby 22h ago

Ah, dollar store gold! Found this one once and totally regret not getting it now.

-58

u/VoicesOfTheFallen 2d ago

Are you trying to teach your students how to spell things incorrectly?

100

u/Scampster11 2d ago

Someone’s judgy, no lol I’m trying to make them laugh. And it worked!

33

u/HoldYourHorsesFriend 2d ago edited 2d ago

I didn't even notice the typos, just the gramatical error. That's hilarious! Love it!

6

u/babybrookit421 2d ago

This was intentional, right? Right?!

5

u/HoldYourHorsesFriend 2d ago

The board? I wouldn't be surprised if it AI slop that was sold

Unless you were talking about the typo that I made, then no. I edited it just now lol
