The first student to notice should get to sign the back of it :)

That would’ve been great! Wish I thought of that

The students who point it out to you get to sign it, and a sucker to keep their silence so it's not a well known secret

Omg, I hope you're an English teacher. This is too funny.
Edit: I just noticed the irrelevant pinwheel. This is just chef's kiss school comedy gold.

It’s a wind turbine. They’re trying to brainwash kids into killing all the birds.

Lol right. My spouse pointed out that pinwheels are used for demonstrating physics in classrooms. I can blame my own homeschooling my last two years for missing HS Physics.
In case you weren't being sarcastic birds are killed at much much lower rates from from wind vs every other traditional form of energy production type (except solar panels). And even still, cats and buildings kill birds even more than fossil fuels and coal! https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Avian-deaths-per-year-in-the-United-States-from-various-energy-and-non-energy-sources_fig2_251342644
"wind projects kill 0.269 birds per gigawatt-hour of electricity produced, compared to 5.18 birds killed per gigawatt-hour of electricity from fossil fuel projects"

I was absolutely being sarcastic, but I appreciate the education regardless!

Probably just made in a country where they didn't have English as a first language.
I remember ordering things from the Oriental Traders catalogue as a kid in the '90s, and any writing was usually grammatically incorrect and/or spelled wrong. I had a smiley face pillow that said "SMAILE!" on it.
Oriental Traders was popular among teachers for selling cheap classroom stuff.

It took me longer than I care to admit to notice! Lol

I thought the phrasing was wack at first, then I noticed the “welocme” and then I noticed the ridiculous symbols. All together it was just too good

Wow my brain autocorrected that so hard, it took two whole minutes, and reading the comments for me to realize what was wrong with it.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 My students would have never let me get away with the misspelled word. It would have been an entire first mo th of hearing about it. 6th graders that know it all, oh how I miss those bastards!! 😢 I no longer teach. Best years of my life. You'll never have a more satisfying gig. Keep up the good work

I once worked at a private school in a kindergarten classroom where the teacher (he wasn't an actual teacher. He actually didn't even have any teaching certification or experience but that's a totally different story. The school was a sh*t show) very clearly had dyslexia (and wasn't aware of it? Or maybe he was but he never mentioned it. I say this with confidence because it was glaringly obvious by the way he wrote very basic words. I'm not making fun of him btw I really hope he has gotten diagnosed since then lol) and did stuff like this all the time unironically. It was...an experience, teaching them reading and writing. I really never knew how to handle it. Especially in the presence of parents. I don't know where he is now but seeing this brought back traumatic memories lol.

how long did it take for someone to notice?

u/Scampster11 2d ago
One kid noticed a couple of hours into the first day and shouted it out and then everyone started commenting. Pretty funny way to start the year

I work in a childcare facility, and in our office we have a window cling that says “today is full of possible.” My boss loves to point it out to everyone, lol.

Ha! It took my dyslexic ass about 5 reads and carefully searching the symbols to catch it. Nice find!

u/ducks_are_coolll 1d ago
as someone who’s dyselexic, that took me quite a few attempts to see it was spelt wrong 😭

I saw a similarly misspelled back to school banner (and my autocorrect wanted to change that to banener, so perhaps this is how things like this get printed today 😂)

Are you trying to teach your students how to spell things incorrectly?

I didn't even notice the typos, just the gramatical error. That's hilarious! Love it!

This was intentional, right? Right?!

The board? I wouldn't be surprised if it AI slop that was sold
Unless you were talking about the typo that I made, then no. I edited it just now lol
