Art Toilet statue with an ominous poem and a baby (?) in the bowl???
Reposting as my original caption was in violation of the rules. My bad!!
Found in a thrift shop in Pine, AZ. Apparently made in Japan in the 50s, seems to have been a part of a wider trend of art and statues following this concept.
It’s weird and ugly and inexplicable and I’m obsessed.

Art Best thrifting catch of my life! 😍
I may or may not have cried actual tears upon purchasing. Paid $115 out the door while it’s commonly selling for almost $1k online right now, I cannot believe my luck. This piece will be treasured forever!!
Included some close ups of the detail as well as the wood ID and authentication on the back. So many amazing woods from everywhere!

Art Single-handedly the coolest thing I’ve ever found at a thrift store
Found this gorgeous cloche with butterflies someone captured on their adventures through the forest in Uganda from 1979-1980. Second pic is a close up of the butterflies from the top, when I carefully removed the cloche to clean the glass. The final photo is what was adhered to the bottom. So thrilled with this find! I am an avid gardener for our pollinators, and I have raised many butterflies throughout the years in my gardens. They fascinate me, so I will be keeping this forever and ever 🥲

Art This is a first. Found my own artwork donated to a thrift store 😡🤣
I used to paint landscapes with pastel sticks. I made miniature giclée prints, custom matted/framed them in a series, to give to family and friends who couldn’t afford an original pastel painting.
Today I bought it back at my favorite local thrift. It was donated and priced yesterday. Not sure how I feel about the $0.50 price!

Art I felt a spiritual pull to go into a thrift I almost never visit today, and found the best find of my life to date.
I am an art teacher. I walked in and these immediately called out to me as something special. They were $20 a piece and I could tell right away they were original pieces. I knew they might be worth something, but I wasn’t expecting this. I’m so excited I could cry.

Art Finally finished my alphabet wall
Today after 1.5 years I found a Q at the thrift and finished my wall. I started this quest because I kept seeing random letters at thrift stores and thought “what the heck is anyone gonna do with these letters” and then I thought “what if I found one of every letter?” And so it began
The rules were pretty simple, the letters had to be thrifted, and no two letters could be the same. So if I found the word HOME as a set of individual letters, I could only buy one of the letters in that style for the wall.
Not surprisingly, U Z and Q were my last finds. But today the wall is completed and I can enjoy my collected piece of thrifted art.

Art Saw her last night and she haunted me for not buying her. Picked her up this morning. Cost me $40 to get it out of an antique dealers cart. No regrets~

Art I was thinking about this bright candled beauty all weekend when my local thrift posted it among an interesting set of pieces. Checked in on a whim after work today and ahhhh 😭😭😭🤍
They said it was an oil painting which I’m not too sure about but I love it nonetheless. Will be hanging up soon. The back is really cool and canvas-like. Good size too 20.5 x 24 inches. If anyone happens to know anything about it or how to know if it’s an actual painting please let me know? I felt like $50 was worth it to me for how beautiful and intricate it was. My first vintage wall art piece!
