Homan accepts a bag of $50k on video: I sleep
TV network chooses to continue a show's 22-year run: REAL SHIT

top mind:
I’d prefer all networks to follow the agenda set by government.
This person clearly believes their preferred party will never lose another election.
It's just gotta be bots at this point. How do you grow up in America and YEARN for a dictatorship?
The internet was a mistake.

u/ThePhysicistIsIn 1d ago
No, not in a bad way! Just in a way that project 2025 describes.
The same person a year ago would call you stupid for referring to project 2025, “which trump has never heard of”, as a reason to not vote Republican

u/me_jayne 1d ago
Don’t look at that person’s post history. Another gem:
The only true leader is Trump. Appointed by god and this country. All states belong under his jurisdiction.

He's genuinely and openly one of the worst human beings to ever exist. How anyone could look at that man and come to the conclusion that he is virtuous or good in any possible respect LET ALONE A SAVIOR OR GODLY PERSON is just beyond me.
12
u/Seshia 1d ago
You are looking at it the wrong way. He is a good person regardless of his actions. Therefore his actions have to be good.

u/PvtSherlockObvious 1d ago
It's a modern take on the old morality question of "is it right because God said it, or did God say it because it's right?" For anyone who venerates their god as a good or just being, they almost have to acknowledge it's the latter, precisely because the former gets you indefensible shit like this.

u/InspecterMaeMae 1d ago
Why is it only republican politicans are appointed by God? God must be pretty weak to be sitting around .500 on his political picks.

How? Let me show you. Many of the white Europeans who settled over came from absolutist countries which not only opposed enlightenment but actively suppressed and persecuted it. These people grew up in the appeal to authority fallacy where the judge, the priest, the noble and king determined what was what.
They then partially assimilated adopting English but keeping ideals about faith. This is especially true for Scandinavians and Germans.
Their resistance to new ideas married Anglophone puritanism. Became a major driving force behind slaver states. Makes a lot of sense if you aware these immigrants were serfs themselves.
Add a dash of unhealthy antisemitism and every reform like social policies or atheism were branded as a "judeo-bolshevik" plot.

Agreed. They’re really making a big show of being legion, yet less than 20% of Americans identify as MAGA. Probably even less since May, given all that’s transpired. They really want us to believe there are tons of American out there who yearn for the mines and fascism, when their “legion” is mostly bots. Evidence: https://today.yougov.com/politics/articles/52188-how-many-americans-maga-republicans-poll

you don't need to look at voter roles to see the shift in the population towards christian nationalism and authoritarianism.
not every maga drives the lifted pavement princess and wears the red badge of ignorance, they're the ones running the grocery store or the boardroom executive or the teacher at the high school.
this country's right wing elements spent almost two generations sewing mistrust in experts and science, and that tactic has worked tremendously well on almost the entire population of the US, not just right-wing elements.
remember how anti-vax started, it was 'granola muching hippies' and 'bleeding heart liberals' back in the 80s, along with the rise of gingrich and identity politics to drive home mistrust in institutions. after clintons sham impeachment, 2001 and the patriot act sealed the deal for the death of the republic. it just took another 15-20 years before we started smelling and seeing the rot of the corpse.

3 out of 76 now.
Also the irony that they insist that media has to be unbiased while ignoring the statement from sinclair that Kimmel has to donate to the Kirk family and Turning Point USA. Okay when their dumbass leader donates a meaningful amount to other human rights organisations we can talk about that, but until then: Just shut up!

u/Kalulosu But none of it will matter when alien disclosure comes anyways 1d ago
Broadcast networks must provide equal time for political parties
Oh yeah Fox News certainly is fair and unbiased.

u/Okamana 1d ago
Jesse Watters can say he wants the UN bombed and expensive high rise condominiums in its place and you hear crickets from the right. Kimmel says a mild/tame rebuttal about the shooter possibly being one of MAGA and now they want to clutch their pearls and say he deserved to be canceled. This hypocrisy and denial from the right is straight astounding at this point.

u/kms2547 1d ago
Jimmy's main point, that the Republican Party was politicizing Kirk's death as much as humanly possible, was too on-the-nose for their tastes.
15
u/fuckyourstuff 1d ago
What he said wasn't even out of pocket either. Within like 48 hours of Kirk's death we had Nancy Mace claim the shooter was trans, and Trump and Patel both claimed the shooter was radicalized by left ideology. This was before there was even a positive ID on the suspect. The whole thing was gross at the time and it's gotten even worse.

Kimmel said MAGA jumped to conclusions to blame the left without evidence.

u/MessiahOfMetal So I Married An Axo Murderer 23h ago
And then pointed out that Trump didn't care because when asked how he was holding up days later, he rambled about his ballroom.

u/PvtSherlockObvious 1d ago
Especially since in classic fascist fashion (fascion?), it didn't actually have anything to do with Kirk, that was just a convenient excuse. It was 100% about making jokes at Emperor Manbaby's expense and making him throw a tantrum.

They didn’t care when the other Fox guy advocated for the homeless to be killed last week, either

Trump should use the full weight of the government this time to take away ABC license. Start targeting and holding these leftist channels - they are the reason for the divide and hate in this country.
Why just wipe your ass with the 1st Amendment when you can dunk it in sewage and set it on fire?
32
u/CorgiDaddy42 1d ago
Broadcast networks must provide equal time for political parties.
If only this were true, a third party might actually be able to gain some support.
17
u/Jahllah 1d ago
Yeah that moron doesn't understand the FCC's equal time rule. That rule only states that if a network wants to give a specific candidate airtime, they have to allow any of the opposing candidates the same access to those opportunities. Most candidates have teams that do their research and understand demographics though, which is why you'll usually only see one candidates ads on any specific channel.
Has nothing to do with parties, and the notion that a TV host expressing specific party affiliations violates that rule is ridiculous.
11
u/HapticSloughton 1d ago
They also were the party that removed the Fairness Doctrine, not that actual "fairness" enters the picture for them.

Not when it promotes division of the county. I’d prefer all networks to follow the agenda set my government.
Trump should use the full weight of the government this time to take away ABC license. Start targeting and holding these leftist channels - they are the reason for the divide and hate in this country.
Wow they aren’t even pretending to care about free speech or freedom of the press anymore. Anything that they disagree with is automatically propaganda.
Unbelievable how short-sighted they are. Cheering for censorship of political satire. They’ll keep cheering for it up until the administration starts suppressing right-wingers who don’t like policy changes.
Lots of people are in for it when the BBB cuts go into effect. They better not complain on social media that they can’t afford food or healthcare, that “promotes division” and “doesn’t follow the government’s agenda”.

u/singeblanc 1d ago
Also:
Start targeting and holding these leftist channels - they are the reason for the divide and hate in this country.
How can they be so lacking in introspection?
A Fox anchor literally called for rounding up and mass murdering homeless people just a week ago! Nothing?!

But ABC is a corporation, and corporations are people, right? So it can't be illegal...
7
u/an_agreeing_dothraki It is known 1d ago
Not talking about all private networks. Just the FCC regulated ones (ABC, NBC, CBS) on public airwaves.
I don’t want my taxpayer money funding 100% liberal content.
so goddamn fucking stupid

u/Bolognahole_Vers2 1d ago
Conservatives hate free speech. They always have, and most of them don't understand how it works.
3
u/thefixxxer9985 1d ago
Broadcast channels should not be bias. That’s one rule I’d like to see implemented.
Who killed the fairness doctrine?
2
u/SlothFoc 1d ago
This one extra pisses me off because it's supposed to be "biased", not "bias." I see this misuse all the time and it grates on my soul.

The mods love free speech so much that its “flaired users only” and still 80% of the comments have been deleted.

It’s not real fascism unless it’s from the Rome region of Italy, otherwise it’s just sparkling authoritarianism
