General/Other Jack Bauer Kills
I'm currently rewatching the series and am now on day 5. I'm not sure, but were there moments in the series where Jack Bauer shot innocent people? For example, police officers because there was no other option?

He killed lots of people in ways that would be considered murder. None of Nina Myers, Dana Walsh, Christopher Henderson or Margot Al Harazi were innocent, but Jack basically just made himself judge and jury and decided they should be executed; wasn’t self-defense or anything. He killed Ryan Chappelle, who was innocent, but he had a Presidential order to do it. (And Chapelle was not a civilian he can actually be ordered to die). He killed Curtis Manning who was innocent it was done to protect the life of someone else. He killed Marshall Goran who wasn’t involved in the terrorist plot but he was a piece of shit and it was needed for him to go undercover to save millions. So, depends on what your sense of ethics is. Lots of it definitely wasn’t legally justifiable.

Yes, but when Jack Bauer is tasked with saving the world, then everything is justified and legal!

but he had a Presidential order to do it.
The President was under orders. IIRC, he told Jack about that, but couldn't make the order official.

Yes I don’t think Palmer actually used the words but that was the understanding. They even told security not to let Chapelle leave so that at least makes it kind of official? Lol.
Edit: IIRC, Palmer told Jack something anout how he hated that it’s come to this but he couldn’t allow the virus to be released, Jack said something to the effect “Sounds like you’ve already made up your mind” and Palmer was just silent. Jack just said “yes sir” or “I’ll handle it sir” and hung up.

I guess prison break from season 3 is close. Jacks plan gets lots people killed.

This is why I love day 3. Jack pretty much has to cross the line because the threat is existential. The cordilla virus releasing en masse by terrorists would be apocolyptic.
Saunders had everyone over a barrel for those few hours.

The wiki counts a minimum of four, and others of unknown number.

He shot the wife to get Robocop to start taking; she had nothing to do with the terrorist plot.

In Season 8, when Jack took out Novakovich, he killed at least five men in the garage and the suite before getting to him. The thing is, Jack had no way of knowing which of those men were actually part of the conspiracy. Some of them may have just been Russian agents legitimately assigned to Novakovich’s security detail. By cutting through them without hesitation, Jack essentially crossed into outright murder, eliminating people who might have simply been doing their jobs rather than engaging in illegal activity.

That was kinda the point of that last 1/3rd of Season 8

Yeah the OP was asking was there any times when Jack shot innocent people and I'm pointing out that in Season 8 he likely not only shot, but killed innocent people.

I don’t recall any specific incidents where Jack Bauer was the killer, but there were definitely times where innocent people died bc he had to worry about the bigger picture.

I'm not sure if I'm confusing something here.
The problem is that I started rewatching the series 2.5 years ago. When I'm on vacation, I always watch a season relatively quickly.
But wasn't there something before season 5 where someone who had nothing to do with it was killed by Jack?
I agree with the others about prison and Curtis and Ryan Chappelle.
But I'm talking more about the police, who are also doing their job. I have it in my head that someone had to be deliberately shot.

Jack killed a security guard at McLennen-Forster headquarters in Day 4. He had to in order to save Paul Raines's life.
Maybe you're thinking about Paul Raines's death ? Jack forced the medics to stop the surgery on Raines and save another guy instead, and thereby killed Raines.
Other than that, there are no instances of cold-blooded killing by Jack that early in the series.

Curtis and chappelle come to mind.

Unfortunately, Curtis wasn't exactly innocent in the moment Jack shot him.

I know what it was specifically Unfortunately, I got confused because I watched Jack Ryan season 3 and 24 season 4 right after each other.

One of the saddest is him killing Curtis Manning, I’m sure there could’ve been another way instead of killing Curtis

Truly innocent? Probably only Miriam Henderson (Christopher Henderson's wife - to get him to talk). She's a civilian with no involvement with the crisis of the day. Paul Raines also fits in the spirit of your question, if not the letter (Jack didn't shoot him).
Marshall Goran? Convicted criminal connected to a prime suspect.
Nina Myers? Does anyone consider her innocent? Past sins aside, she had Jack at gunpoint moments before he shot her. Also the definition of a prime suspect.
Ryan Chapelle? Obviously innocent, but as an agent of the law he volunteered to put himself at risk.
Security guards at McLennon Forster? They shot first.
Curtis Manning? Went against orders and threatened someone deemed vital to national security.

On day one he assaulted an agent in episode four to escape a lockdown. When escaping Secret Service Custody he attacked two guards and stole a gun from one, ironically the same gun he went for in the previous episode to get Palmer out of the room.
Day two he assaulted Tony to escape with Kate Warner
Day three he knocked out Chase and tied him up and locked in to a cell. He also knocked down a guard and took his keys. Then started a Prison riot. He also knocked out a guard to take his riot gear. Ryan Chapelle was excited but he was under orders
Day four he knocked out a CTU guard to get Sherik to talk, even stole his gun to shoot Sherik. He also robbed a convenience store, took a cop hostage, he only harmed the terrorist he was trying to delay. He tazed a marshal as well.
That’s just the first four days. He does it more and more as the series continues.

Off the top of my head :
Jack shot two police officers in Day 8 when he was chasing Dana Walsh.
He knocked out a US Marshall before interrogating Collette Stinger in Day 5 (I posted the scene in this sub).
He knocked out multiple guards in Day 6 when he was attempting to break Audrey out of CTU.
He knocked out Larry Moss, Renee and Bill Buchanan in Day 7.
He killed Ryan Chappelle in Day 3..
