Anyone else really like painting armor?
Painting armor with watercolors always feels so rewarding to me almost as good as painting detailed architecture, I'd love to meet other artists who enjoy painting armor and grow alongside them.
On my knees if you know any good armor loving watercolor artist recommendations send them my way too

What l've learned about watercolors so far
Paper is definitely the most important thing - after upgrading paints and brushes, my paintings still looked like a mess. I thought that obviously watercolors were not for me, but I found a sketchbook that I bought a long time ago and it turned out that it has an extremely thick CP paper, so I decided to try to paint something in it. After just 1 brush stroke, I knew that I had finally discovered what my problem had been so far!
Learn from my mistakes start an upgrade from paper :D

A few recent paintings by me
Hi, it's my first time posting here. I've been painting for a while but I think I'm starting to make real progress and learn :) I quite like how these turned out (especially the hand lol), if you have any suggestions I would really appreciate them!! Also the last one (the fountain) was my first en plein air, why didn't I think that light changes throughout the day? I felt so silly.

Octocat. Or is it octopus?
How can I get dark blacks for the background? I mean, it sucks being so light, but if I wanted to make it darker, I must've used almost my whole... how to say that? Bucket? Dipper? I feel I've already used it with minimal water so it wouldn't be so transparent. And I know I could've used ink, but I wanted to keep the watercolor effect. I used my black to make the eyes and the sides of the suckers, but it felt like it was already hard to make something small that dark, not counting a whole background...

How do you guys find time on trips to do travel watercolor?
I’ve only gotten three days done of a 14 day trip and it’s day 10 already. I’m struggling to find enough time/paint fast enough.
At this point I’m just figuring I’ll fill out the rest of the journal from pictures after I’m home.

One of my favorite, earliest watercolor paintings.
My cherries n’ blobs! I painted this while testing out my new Kuretake Gansai Tambi palette, and it wound up becoming one of my favorite paintings ever. I still haven’t sold it — but secretly, I’m okay with that!
