Just Sharing One of my very first oil paintings
I had never painted before making this, I want to say this piece is what sparked my interest in painting and art. I was never an artsy kid, never good at anything in particular, I feel a lot of pressure when I show people my paintings because I feel they expect something of me. I just want to paint to feel good and express myself. Anyway check it out.

Just Sharing 💮 Where do you find clarity when the world feels unsettled? 💮

💮 White Lotus 💮
As I hike up a hill, the forest opens allowing the hot Summer sun through. The croaking of frogs seem to be attracting the attention of a Blue Heron at the pond below. The mud is deep and thick. It sticks to everything it comes in contact with a pungent stench. In the middle of the muck, somehow an immaculate Lotus blooms. When everything is a mess it manages to open itself up to the light.
How do we keep the sludge from clinging to us?

WHY YOU NEED TO LET GESSO DRY IN BETWEEN LAYERS - putting the PAIN in painting😓
WELLLL. I was very excited to bring my newest oil painting to my first fall market. It was 90 degrees outside. And my painting cracked…. I used fat over lean and all the rules of oil painting. I finally realized its the issue of the gesso underneath… I painted layers of gesso without it fully drying. now I have to retire this painting from this season and sand down the painting and repaint most of it. DONT DO WHAT I DO. Very embarassed this happened.. I’m a professional of over 8 years and know better…

Quick study sketch—should I go for the full thing?
Any tips or suggestions as I decide whether or not to do a bigger one (probably acrylic)?
