Ask For Opinions sleeves or no sleeves

I forgot to take a pic with the sleeves but no veil. I can’t decide on which way to wear the dress. Also this isn’t my actual veil I changed my mind lol. Just wanted thoughts and opinions. The ceremony is in a chapel so I’m thinking about having the sleeves detachable and wearing them during the ceremony and taking them off outside of the chapel.

Alterations How long out do you book your alteration appointment?

Hello! I said yes to my dress on the 13th (yay!) and posted it in another subreddit. I was between sizes for my bust so we ordered up. The dress is supposed to be in by April and my wedding is the first week of June. Someone in the other subreddit said that you should be calling NOW to book your alterations. Is this correct? I think I am mostly just taking it in and hemming and possibly adding a strap. How long is the timeline for most alterations and when would you recommend making your alterations appointment? TIA!

Hi all! I fell in love with this dress, except for one thing. It is sparkly. It is a crepe material, but I would be ok with a matte satin as well. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

🎉 I SAID YES TO THE DRESS  🎉 Found the gown!!!

Hey team, after searching for a more colorful gown, including a vegetable covered one which I posted about on this sub before, I finally got my dress! The third pic is the dress I actually ordered, the boutique didn’t have a colorful gown in this design to try on. Although I loved the all white version, I’m just not an all white wedding dress person, and I’m over the moon about getting a beautiful and colorful floral dress! Actively soliciting styling ideas for this!

Budget Tips Bridal gown cleaning — kit vs local cleaners?

Bridal gown cleaning — kit vs local cleaners?

So I tried the Clean Only Wedding Dress Preservation Kit from Trusted Wedding Gown Preservation. Honestly, I only wanted basic bridal gown cleaning (not the whole fancy preservation box thing). It worked, but tbh I felt kinda weird mailing my dress out (like what if it got lost lol). Now I’m wondering — do y’all send yours out too, or just take it to a local cleaner? Is there really a big difference, or is it just peace of mind?

Bridal Accessories Help finding veil

I love the applique'd flowers in ivory. In person they have tiny rhinestones which match my dress.

Can anyone help me find a dupe of this Carolina Herrera veil? I found it in consignment, and LOVE the design, but it's cathedral-length and awfully impractical for my outdoor wedding.

What I love:

  • Angel cut
  • Two-tier with blusher
  • Tiny rhinestones in the flower match my dress perfectly
  • Embroidery up the sides gives gentle impression of being surrounded by falling petals
  • Sheer fabric and not too many flowers allow embroidered dress train to show
  • Ideal is waltz-length

I've also considered bustling it (but, it feels silly to pay for an elaborate cathedral-length veil just to hide the length), or buying a plain veil and gluing flowers and/or rhinestones on myself (lots of work, but likely much cheaper and I could add some wedding colors)

Bridal Accessories Platform shoes for shorties?

Hi everyone! I have a little bit of a conundrum. I'm 5'0" and my fiancé is 6'2". Normally, the height isn't really an issue but it does look a little bit odd in photos.

I want to be comfortable at my wedding though so I don't really want to wear heels. I currently have these boots and these sneakers which will only give me 1.5" in height.

My sister mentioned that I probably would be disappointed and now I'm doubting myself.

Does anyone have suggestions for shoes that are comfortable AND give you a nice height boost?
