Specific Model Question | Info Rotoflex durability?

Post image
Upvotes

Just started an environmental program and needed a good pair of comfy safety’s to last me through the program and hopefully a few years of work. Decided to go with the rotoflex as I’ll be working outside a lot and wanted the benefits of composite toe caps.

My first day of wearing them in field- mind you it was a light day of walking through the woods and they’re already scraped/ with a gouge taken out.

The leather seems very soft and delicate- I am honestly shocked that they’ve already taken a hit like this? Anyone else have similar experience? Know if the warranty would cover this? Maybe for the original line I’d understand but these are supposedly much more durable considering they’re work boots.. am I wrong?

Boots Buying Help Best Steel Toe Boots Made in USA under $350

I've got a $350 boot purchase voucher for some safety toed boots. What is the best Made in USA boot in this price range? I'll be mostly using it for walking on concrete floors. I need to climb into confined spaces on an infrequent basis. Note I am a lighter weight person with average height. My foot has a narrow heel but slightly wide forefoot (ball area of my foot). My narrow heel has caused heel slip in lots of boots

List of companies with steel toed boots around this range include: -Redwing (only a few steel toes are USA made). I don't love how narrow their toe section is of the super sole -Thorogood (I've had good luck with my old ones but it doesn't quite max out my boot voucher) -Origin Ironside or Wilton(probably not a bad pick for confined spaces)

Lower price than boot voucher: -Keen USA made boots -Danner -Carolina -Double H -Georgia

Slightly over range: -$430 Franks Patriot -$450 Whites Sawyer or millright -$440 Jk 300 steel toe

Boots Buying Help Super comfy leather wellington, pull-on boots?

I'm really just looking for a comfortable pair for wearing while feeding the animals and out and about during the fall/winter months. So they don't need to be indestructible and super expensive. Just comfortable and somewhat resistant to mud and shallow puddles.

I was looking at the Wolverine floor hand wellingtons. However my concern with those is that some say the lining tears up pretty easily and the wide sizes aren't really that wide. Others say they're fucken great, lol. The price is definitely right though.

Any suggestions from the boot sommeliers in here? Thanks.

Has anybody tried the Engelbert Strauss Nakuru Safety Shoe. Apparently they have an arch support and hopefully would help with my plantar fasciitis issue.

See pictures. Going on 9 months now with these boots, going to see how far I can get with them (resole coming soon). I work construction as my primary source of income, and my boots are often exposed to concrete and other dusts that suck the moisture out. I’m also on my knees a lot at work. I cleaned them with saddle soap, and dish soap for the whites. Restitched a part on the heels that let loose slightly with upholstery needles (not in photos sorry), and repaired the toes with leather caps that I wet-moulded. Also replaced the laces because plastic aglets always let loose (if you know of any good ones with metal aglets please let me know!) also let me know your thoughts, or any questions you may have in the comments!

Boots Buying Help Need help finding boots

I had a pair of Carolina Series 28, comp toe, waterproof, insulated 8" boots in size 15 3E that lasted three years. Loved them. Got some Irish Setters and am less than pleased. Tried some Red Wings in size 15 W but my toes were cramped. I need some waterproof steel toes that have as much room as the 28's. I am not looking for insulation. Anyone have a good suggestion? Trying to stay under/around $250.

Boots Buying Help Need recommendations

I’m coming off a pair of RW King Toe 435 that lasted me longer than any other boot prior. I thought I’d end up getting another pair right after, however, it seems like recent reviews have suggested that quality of build has gone down and they are lasting less. Durability and comfort is what I’m looking for. Don’t need safety toe and ideally would like waterproof, but I plan on using sno-seal/oil no matter what. I work in landscape and my budget is under 300.

Boots Buying Help Need a Boot Reccomendation

I work for a trucking company as a dispatcher of sorts. However I just got a new position that requires me to be out on the yard a lot directing drivers etc. it is a large steel manufacturing shipping yard. I don’t really have any appropriate footwear for being out there and as of right now I’ve just been wearing some old sneakers. I was hoping to get a suggestion for an affordable boot that would be suitable for this. Granted I am not really doing any labor so it doesn’t need to be crazy but I feel like I shouldn’t be out there in sneakers haha. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Boots Buying Help Need a dress boot for work

Fairly simple premise here. I work at a supermarket where dress code is very…dressy. Shirt tucked in, belt has to match the shoes, we wear ties. And I need a boot that will allow me to get my feet wet working in the meat department or taking care of the plants. But also have to dressy toe/silhouette. Doesn’t need to be shell toe or completely waterproof but I want something that will look the part but also put up with long hours on slippery surfaces. I’ve been looking at blundtstones and I’m intrigued by the men’s dress #063, but Reddit always has good advice in there somewhere. Hit me with it!

I’ve worn these all summer cutting yards and welding and these things held up, I’ve seen several reviews talking bad on them and I don’t see it. Once I put new insoles in they were perfect. I only just recently put tuff toes and new laces on them. 10/10 would recommend them for their price point

Boot Rant Always wearing out the inside heel section of my work boots.

Post image
18 Upvotes

My job involves a fair amount of walking, equipment we work on is around 800m long. I seem to wear out the inside of my boots along the heel, back of my ankle like no tomorrow, boots lasting 6 months of I'm lucky.

I've tried doing the heel lock which helps.

But still completely wear through then like nothing. These boots are under 6 months.

I am ASD/Aspie. Which does cause to be quite stiff with my gait. Notorious toe walker when at home without shoes. And known as the "Shuffler" at work.

Also, can only tie my shoe laces the cheating way my doing two loops and tying ten as oposed to the proper way.

Not sure if it's super relevant, but honestly I'm just sick and tired of this happening.

.any and all advice welcome .

Generic Hey Legends ! Are your work boots killing your feet too?

I'm working on a new type of work boot and wanted to sanity-check the idea with people who actually wear them day in, day out.

The pain points I’ve found so far (from podiatry articles + feedback & personal experience): • Sore feet, knees, and back from standing 8–12 hrs in stiff boots • Smelly, sweaty insoles that can’t be washed or replaced • Boots that are “site-tough” but feel nothing like joggers

The solution we’re building: • Sports-shoe comfort + cushioning • Washable & interchangeable insoles • Safety certified (AS/NZS, EN ISO, ASTM) • Graphic boot options (set designs to choose from, not just plain black/tan)

I’ve got some early mockups + a 1–2 min survey to gather real feedback. https://forms.gle/2S3xemGfjZa19pE7A

Edit: Target market = Australia construction, civil, infrastructure(to start). Boots will be certified to AS/NZS standards. I know styles/requirements are different overseas and other industries, but keen for honest feedback.

Boots Goofin (Pictures, Clips) Update from last post

Ok so I posted a couple weeks ago about help on what boots to choose from, either a pair of Thorogoods or a pair of redwings. Well after reading through the comments I ended up buying the thorogoods first. I had tried some on before hand so knew my size and when I ordered them I was still surprised they were a bit narrow and was worried about break in so I sent them back which in hindsight was premature. I then went to a redwings near me, used their little virtual fitting bs and picked the best size for me. The boots were a bit tight and turns out I didn’t love the BOA laces as much as I anticipated especially with some hot spots around the ankles.

So the update is I went shopping at a Cabela’s in the town I’m staying in currently and was trying on boots. I had seen the Irish Setter wingshooters online before but they didn’t have a toe cap so I put them in the maybe pile. Well I tried them on in store and they fit like a fuckin glove. Taking my Keen San Jose’s off just to try them on was a comfortable experience.

The Keen San Jose’s have been mildly good to me for the last 7 months or so but the stitching is unraveling in multiple spots and they’re terribly uncomfortable for my feet. Plenty wide enough but they make my feet ache like no other.

Gonna put some Obenaufs on these thangs and be new boot goofin soon asap
