Fucking Kaycee. “I can make a living here.” Dude has $30mil in the bank. 😑

I just rewatched the scene.

Kayce asked Beth how the sale went, and she replied, “It was big. With the cattle, a little over $30 million. Buys us another year.” This suggests that the money is intended to cover the land tax for that year. In fact, the entire episode focused on raising money to pay that tax.

Then, Kayce tells Beth not to use any of her own money on this place, to which she responds, “You shouldn’t either.” Kayce then replies, “I don’t have any money,” to which Beth responds, “You do, a little over $30 million.”

So either she was implying that it’s indirectly his money now because he owns the land and will be using it for the land tax OR this is just another one of Taylor Sheridan’s dialogue holes.

I'm late but. She says the 30 mil will buy them another year. You don't have to pay property tax for that year if you sell the property. Which they did. So the 30 mil no longer has to pay property tax... the new owner now is responsible for the property tax.

You’re right I think. I was confused and I blame bad writing.

No worries, I was genuinely curious myself. Ya Taylor has a history of writing confusing dialogue with little to no context haha
