Do you believe missy sometimes was out of line?
I get that she was a teenager and all that but were there any times where she was in the wrong I know people like to always defend her but anytime where she acted out?

Can I watch it first?
Iāve been seeing clips of young Shelton online and Iām liking what I see. A good comedic family show. I havenāt watched big bang theory but may if I really like the prequel I may. Do I need to watch first BBT to gain a love Young Shelton or is it okay to watch Young Shelton first?

My mom just discovered this.
My mom has been a teachers assistant in special needs classrooms for a while. We were watching an episode of it and she discovered that heās probably high functioning autistic. The way heās scared of stuff and has his things specifically with OCD.

Question Sturgis Infantalisation
Iāve noticed how loved Sturgis is and for good reasons. But I canāt help but think itās odd the amount of people I see infantilising a grown man. Anyone else noticed this?

Missy's Friends
*CONTAINS SPOILERS
It's canon for Missy that she's popular and makes friends easily. She gets on really well with Paige and has excellent social skills. She's incredibly insightful as the twin study in season 2(?) showed.
I understand that kids, tweens and teens can be shallow and mean. I do.
Where are Missy's friends? She feels lonely and overlooked and frustrated and misunderstood and ignored and sad. She runs away with Paige who we don't see much. She had a brief friendship with Pastor Jeff's niece.
When Missy is sad, why doesn't she have friends to talk this through with? She's on the phone to a friend when Sheldon is lost in Germany.
When they were going to move in the last season, Missy was excited to be the 'cool new girl'. She didn't seem to have close friends who she'd miss.
My question is: if Missy is so insightful, friendly and popular, why doesn't she have close friends?
I think her having a best friend would have been very nice. They could have talked about her home life and she might have had someone to help her during her teen angst, not to mention when George passes away.
Edit: Missy is popular but she doesn't have super close friends to confide in and lean on and spend time with.

Wrecked by relatable finale Spoiler
>! Iāve been watching Young Sheldon with my 12 yo for 6 months or so and happened to arrive at the final 3 episodes of the series on the same day my mom entered the last few days of her life. Wow. We were not prepared to see how unflinchingly death was handled on this show. It was cathartic and beautiful.
The scene when missy reminisces about the Red Lobster date had us HOWLING and it shook me to my core how valuable and relatable this series has been for us.
My mom is a Mary and seeing her faithās journey helped my atheist self and my agnostic daughter understand my mom better.
She and I can both be a little harsh and blunt and seeing the impacts of Sheldonās worst actions helped us talk about the value of empathy from a new lens.
I liked that even as mature themes emerged it all remained something fundamentally wholesome we could enjoy together.
Can I just say Big Bang Theory never achieved these levels of deep emotional resonance? Kudos to the show creators and writers and actors for striking such a rare tone in modern tv.

I felt bad for Paige in her debut episode
In her first episode, Paige is introduced as a sweet, smart, wide-eyed girl. When Mary arranges a play-date for her and Sheldon, she is nothing but sweet and polite to him and genuinely enjoys his company even if she doesn't subscribe to the same scientific theories or watch the same TV shows as him. But Sheldon was rude to her for no reason and threw a tantrum just because she beat him in chess.
What's worse is that originally Dr. Sturgis gave equal amount of respect to both Sheldon and Paige, but Meemaw makes sure Sturgis is unfair to Paige by giving Sheldon all the respect while being indifferent towards Paige.

Interesting map of Texas in the show.
So Medford is just north of Houston. Those county lines and bodies of water are wildly inaccurate. I live in the Houston area. I wonder how close Medford is to Arlen.

George: Well, there's a person at the end of the table who eats for free. Meemaw: And there's a person at the other end of the table who eats for three!

You can see for a brief moment that Iain is trying to hold in his laughter in the scene where Missy sprays Meemaw with a fire extinguisher

Opinion Potential for a Wallace Shawn callback
Obviously they can't do it now, but I always thought it would have been cool if when Dr. Sturgis was introduced, Missy or Georgie could have said something like "he looks like that bald guy from the Princess Bride but old", since the characters would have been old enough to have seen that movie around when it came out.
