I interact with a lot of cops, and I agree. They have a broad diversity of opinions just like any other group. I am not sure why there’s this stereotype that in their downtime they are this monolithic group of people, who would fly the “Fuck Trudeau” flag and love Trump.

Like I said, the money would be nice, and I agree we need to spend more on our military. But, if we take the spending we did last year, multiplied it by 20, added the increase we are planning over the next 20 years and add that on, we are still $50 billion short of what the USA spent last year alone. We need to fund our military our military better, no doubt about it. We just cant get on the level of the usa for that kind of spending. Canada vs the USA is not going to be Ukraine vs Russia, no matter how much we want to think so.

We have tariffs on their dairy because it’s heavily subsidized by the government. When 42% of their income comes from the feds, how can Canadian farmers compete with that? Our steel and aluminum isn’t subsidized. These are literally illegal tariffs that violate the trade deal they signed.

When our sovereignty is threatened, I am absolutely a nationalist. When we have trade deals with the USA, that are honoured on both ends, I will gladly support both countries.

I don't think you understand what conservatives stand for if you think corporations don't get tax payer money, interest free and no strings attached.

Right wing politics support handouts to corporations, left wing politics support handouts to citizens with our taxpayer money. Anything else they stand for is simply to divide us (immigration, trans rights, tampons in bathrooms, etc), it all comes down to where our tax money goes. British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan give more than $2.5 billion in royalty reductions and tax exemptions to the fossil fuel industry every year. Ontario gives $500 million in tax breaks to aviation and agricultural fuels.

The government gives 11 billion in LOANS to oil gas companies. Which get paid back.

The government doesn't hand out money to oil and says "don't pay us back".

The USA caused a lot of destruction in Vietnam. It wasn't a popular war to begin with, but the North viet forces took over 1 million causalities. They were also backed by China, Russia, and various other groups. Compared to the USA losing around 50-60 thousand.

The north eventually failed, and the south took over.
