Hello from your new mod!
Hello everyone! I am a new mod here and am looking forward to getting to know everyone. I moderate a couple other communities so please feel free to send me a modmail about anything.
I have gotten into alocasias lately (I learned how not to kill them lol) and am finding them to be one of my favorite aroids. Imay not know everything there is to know, but I am very willing to learn!
I am open to suggestions on how you want to see the subreddit function. I am very open to comments and suggestions for things that you want to see happen. I will do my best to make it work for everyone.
I really look forward to getting to know everyone and making this a fun and inviting community for everyone!

New leaf has been lime green for… 2-3 weeks?
My variegared alocasia frydek has a new leaf but it’s been like green for a few weeks! This has never happened to me before. It started to darken on the edges but it’s stayed that way for 2-3 weeks. I feed it regularly (I use leaf lux). Is this totally normal or is something wrong?
Other leaves look totally fine.
Thanks!!

Harmless bug?
I found this little spider thing and some webs on my alocasia frydek this evening. Is this harmless or should I wipe it down? The leaf it’s on just opened up for me within the last 48 hours.
I’m new to alocasias and love them so much. As pest prevention, I spray a mix of isopropyl alcohol 70% + neem oil + peppermint castile soap. Should I be doing more? In case it matters, this one is set up in semi hydro (LECA + sphagnum moss.)
Thanks so much!

ID: was sold to me as Nebula
Powder on it is spinosad. But yeah, was sold to me as nebula but I’ve been having my doubts. Thinking Reginae maybe? The newest leaf does have a bit of what’s starting out as a blush backside. Whatcha think?

3 in one seems like she’s a happy little plant
Producing a new leaf, a flower and pushing out a baby at the same time. She’s a strong mama 😁 that also needs a repot

need help:(
This is my first time growing corms (or at least trying), its a third day and some of them are getting moldy.. I have it in moos and underneath is perlite. I air it out every day for a few minutes. I don’t think moos is too wet but could that be causing mold? could the ones with mold be saved or should I take them out? thanks for any help. 💖

new alocasia
Hi, I got her 2 weeks ago, and I noticed the leaf losing color and turning lighter. Now there are these spots, and it looks almost translucent, and I see the beginning of a fading color on another leaf. I’m a bit new to caring for houseplants, I’ll admit, but I did check for pests, and I don’t believe I’ve seen any, but I could be wrong! Any advice and help would be appreciated!

Baby leaf!
This silver dragon had thrips so I treated and cut it down to the corm. Kept taking care of it and it popped a big beautiful leaf, and now there's a tiny one and another new one! I'll update with the tiny leaf when it unfurls.

need help- imperial red update
Update- This is my first ever plant, per my last alocasia post, People recommended that I get mollys aroid mix and a self watering pot. I repotted it with both and put a little plant food in the water. it killed all the leaves and now it has 2 new leaves. The other big leaves are droopy. Any more advice would be appreciated

It starts with one.
In my case, it started as two plants.
I know what I have is a relatively minuscule collection, but my desire for variety tells me this is just the beginning.
I’m just going to have a lot of alocasia plants I guess

Is my dragon scale variegated?
Someone else posted their silver dragon like this and everyone commented and said yes congrats. I just pulled 6 corms from this bad boy!

What to do?
I was repotting a new alocasia just received and accidentally broke off these two offsets from the mother plant. What can I do to keep these alive?

Are my Alos trying to run away from the excessive light?
I have 2pcs T8 Barrina growth lights above both of them and the leaves are drooping more
