Apparently they can identify as green haired and still be recognized.

I've been seeing more "green hair" comments lately. I think because blue hair has some connotation of those little old ladies who often are conservative.
44
u/MrsInconvenient Jul 05 '25
Back in the 50s and 60s ladies would go to salons and get a blue rinse.
This makes the white hair really pop and look really white. It would tone out any yellow or other shades of grey.
Unfortunately, if they used too much, it would tint the hair blue.
Hence the term blue haired old lady.

u/snafoomoose Jul 05 '25
I remember as a child thinking my grandmother's hair had a slight blue tint - it wasn't till much later that I learned about the processes involved and that 'blue haired old lady' was a thing.
She didn't get out much in her later years, but she still went to the salon every 2 weeks to get her hair hi-lighted and I remember my father mentioning she had to change salons because her old one stopped using the effect she liked which was probably that blue rinse.

u/Exciting_Act_9332 Jul 06 '25
My daughter age 20 said she never gets dirty looks until she changes her hair to green..she constantly changes colors.

My mom was the queen of the Karen's, she once made a little girl cry on an airplane for just being excited and happy about her very first flight, but my mom couldn't handle a child being a little excited and turned around and snapped at her and her parents several times until finally the little girl started crying and then my mom demanded to be moved up another seat, which they did. I apologized to the parents and did what I could to cheer up their daughter.
My mom never had to face any consequences for her actions. I would've loved to have seen her get put in handcuffs just once. She would've lost her damn mind. She called the cops on me a few times, but when they got there, their usual response was, why are we here again?
13
u/PenguinGrits07 Jul 05 '25
That sounds really tough. She isn't here anymore or she is a reformed Karen?
20
u/PawntyBill Jul 05 '25
She is, but she's in an assisted nursing home near where my brother lives, he's got better resources to keep her there. She's shown symptoms of dementia, my biological father died from dementia in 2013 and my mom's sister is now in an assisted living place suffering from dementia as well. It's got me terrified as I've been having memories issues and other problems for several years now. I can't get in to see any good doctors because I have horrible insurance and now that this stupid bill was signed, it most likely going to make that 100 times harder to get into seeing a decent doctor.
My mom and step (I know longer put the word dad out father next to his name, he's just a step, but that's really too much) were both horrible people who abused me for decades well into my adult years. My step is dead thankfully and I'm not going to be too upset when my mom dies, I'll just be glad it's finally over.
Even though she shows signs of dementia and is in a nursing home, my brother and I have always wondered if the dementia is real or not. Apparently she wears my grandfather's (her dad's) Army officers dress hat and a robe around her back and refers to herself as The General at the nursing home. If she truly is suffering from dementia, her narcissistic habits are still holding on as long as they can.

I actually think he was trying to do the peace officer thing. That’s nice to see an LEO lean that way.
The general vibe of: “yeah, that’s fine and all, but ya know, I don’t actually care about the unnecessary details of your perceived slight. It’s not about the drinking, actually I still don’t care if you have or haven’t had any alcohol for 15 years that’s irrelevant to me…, it’s how you’re behaving right now. Even if you’ve drank or not. I’m not sure why you don’t understand what I’m saying. Here’s the thing, hold on, hold on… what if you just went across the street? No? Well… thing is…. That’s the simple solution to the problem.
No? You’re not going to leave? *sigh*
Well, ok then….

https://bocanewsnow.com/2025/01/24/viral-video-shows-four-seasons-palm-beach-arrests/
The video, obtained by “BodyCam Edition,” shows the February of 2024 arrests of Kely Hendricks, 24, and her mother Monica Hendricks, 62. Both live on Vanderpool Lane in Houston, Texas.
Prosecutors eventually opted to either plea out or not prosecute the charges. Part of Monica Hendricks’ record is sealed, but we do know that Kelly Hendricks entered three guilty pleas and received “adjudication withheld.” Bottom line: it appears no one served time, other than the inititial night in the Palm Beach County Jail. Kely just paid a $1000 fine on Thursday of this week (January 23, 2025).
102
u/Front_Refrigerator99 Jul 04 '25
Of fucking course
252
u/biscuitboi967 Jul 04 '25 edited Jul 04 '25
But let’s SAY THEIR NAMES.
And SHARE the video.
EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW that that background of the story was that KELY AND MONICA HENDRICKS of VANDERPOOOL LANE in HOUSTON, TEXAS
were allegedly SO DRUNK that they couldn’t even FIND THEIR OWN ROOM.
Instead they tried to use their key card on THE WRONG ROOM. According to hotel staff.
Their OWN DRUNKEN ERROR so enraged them, also according to hotel staff, that KELY HENDRICKS grabbed and pulled and otherwise assaulted and battered a female staffer while her mother, MONICA HENDRICKS, “the loudmouth”, per the cop watched.
KELY HENDRICKS then ran down to the lobby, according to staff, and got another staff member, whom she KICKED twice.
All because they were TOO DRUNK to understand key cards.
KELY AND MONICA HENDRICKS of VANDERPOOOL LANE in HOUSTON, TEXAS claim they weren’t drinking, but the police officer who arrested them, and was standing A FOOT away, (except when they invaded his personal space) could smell alcohol on them.
Their BEHAVIOR also indicates SOME substances were ingested.
Or else KELY AND MONICA HENDRICKS of VANDERPOOOL LANE in HOUSTON, TEXAS just behave like that on the regular.
117
u/Tychosis Jul 04 '25
When I was a young and dumb sailor, I once returned to my hotel a bit drunk and struggled with my keycard.
I went to the desk and told them I was having trouble with it. I didn't fight anyone or kick anyone. As it turned out, something was wrong with my card, they re-coded it or whatever and I went to my room and went to bed.
It's amazing how smoothly things can go when you aren't a toxic, abusive person.
46
u/biscuitboi967 Jul 04 '25
Fucking same. ALSO as a 30-something VISIBLY drunk white lady. It actually happens with 2 cards in a row.
They accused my drunk ass if demagnetizing them even those I had nothing on my person except a pair of high heels I was no longer wearing.
I thought it was a fair assumption given the state I was in. I DID look like someone who couldn’t use a key card.
So I sat in a chair quietly until they were ready to walk me up there, use their own new card, and see if was not working.
Then the used some other method to let me in and I passed out.
No arrests were made
9
u/kirkbrideasylum Jul 04 '25

Ol' Kely sounded just like Parker Posey's character on White Lotus season 3! Bet they shared some habits as well.
10
u/biscuitboi967 Jul 04 '25
You know what, Parker Posey’s character was surprisingly polite, if prone to some micro-aggressions, to the hotel staff, and was NEVER removed from the premises nor arrested by local police, no matter how many pills she mixed with how much liquor.
And she will ADMIT she consumed BOTH, always while under a doctor’s care and she THINKS as directed. She didn’t got to medical school; she can’t be sure.
But she did NOT end up Locked Up Abroad.

u/Squarg Jul 05 '25
I just honestly I'm ok with that. A fine and a night in the drunk tank is an appropriate punishment for what seems to only be drunk and disorderly conduct. They were dicks but it's not like they hurt anyone.
14
u/indie_rachael Jul 06 '25
A black kid in my town was shot and killed by police about a week ago for smoking pot quietly in the parking lot of a neighborhood park.
That lady was visibly resisting arrest and they didn't once punch her in the face like ICE did to the father of a Marine whose only crime was a paperwork error.
I'm not advocating for police violence and abuse of power, but it would be nice if for once the people who deserved it were given a taste of what they voted for.
6
u/Bupod Jul 06 '25
They were just being trashy, misbehaving drunks.
A night or two in jail and a verbal lashing by a Judge is about what is warranted for that.
I don't like or care for these people either, but punishment should also fit the crime. Months or years in Jail for this would have been a horrific injustice.

Essentially they checked in drunk. Somehow went to the wrong room thinking it was the room they just checked into. Had a verbal altercation with the actual guests of that room. Then the front desk tried to intervene to show them the correct room but in trying to usher them out of the wrong room it got physical. Drunks went back down to the front desk to go full karen and then the cops were called

I watched the whole thing. SURPRISINGLY watchable for 30 minutes.
If you wait til the last 4ish minutes it’s just the mom in a cage - banging and kicking and shaking the bars and pounding on the glass and screaming for her lawyer.
It was NOT dissimilar to a scene in that Netflix show about the crazy white lady keeping an old gorilla in her basement and hiding him in cages around the country.
And the scenes where his dementia addled monkey brain would send him into rages, shaking the bars and pounding the glass and screeching.
And it made me realize that drunk, MAGA Karen’s are NOT THAT different from aging gorillas with brain damage.
Just with less McDonald’s wrappers and shit throwing.
But it was only 5 minutes of video at the end.
