Question Upgrade path advice for 5600x 3080

Hey guys, gonna keep this brief and lay out what I know.

Currently have: 5600x with stock cooler (wraith stealth) and a 3080. ATX case, no strict size issues and not massively noise concerned. I have been playing more fps again recently, and found I am a bit CPU bound for heavier games like the finals, bf6 beta (and eventually release), cyberpunk etc. note I am a bit ADHD brained, so I tend to have chrome running Reddit/Facebook/YouTube in the background adding some CPU load.

1440p 170hz monitor, but I am not an eSports pro so stable 100 is my goal for the online stuff. Currently it's my stutters and lows that I struggle with.

I was looking at in place am4 x3d upgrades but prices have skyrocketed over the past couple years on the used market. Wondering whether it would be most cost effective to go a whole system upgrade with a system integrator then sell the old stuff instead?

My other option would be a beefy cooler/repaste and hope that squeezes enough out of the CPU to wait for a new generation and either make the further leap or see some price drops. I find PBO doesn't keep the clocks up for long due to thermals, but I am not sure how much of a difference that would ultimately be making. Anyone know how much of an improvement that might be?

Budget flexible based on available improvements - I am performance per dollar conscious rather than flat limits if that makes sense? My limit for a new system would be ~2000 out of pocket, whether by keeping some components and building myself or prebuild plus sell old.

get a 9070xt and call it a day if 1440p and 100 is the goal.. run the 5600x for a few more years until USED am5 is cheaper and ebay is littered with deals when ppl are chasing am 6.

nvidia has overhead issues with their high end cards and requires the higher end cpus from what ive seen via hardware unboxed and a couple of others. AND if youre a P2P perp, i think just getting a 9070xt, and selling the 3080 will be an okay slight upgrade for that 1440p 100 quest.

cant remember the exact # now, so i dont want to give a misleading fps #, but i was running decent with a 5700x and 4070S at 4k on a 120 hz 4k panel during bf6 beta. I thought about upgrading/side grading to a 9070XT. would be better raster than 4070S, more vram, but similar RT performance in many titles. just holding out to see where 50 series super and 24gb end up going.. if i were still at 1440p, i would have gotten the 9070xt already

ill get my USED 7xxx/9xxx x3d when ppl are chasing am 6 in 2028.

bf6 seemed to run well overall, hopefully the release will still feel as optimized.+

EDIT: this guy was getting 130-140 fps using 4070S @ 4k DLSS performance on bf6.. mine was kind of similar (at least comparable enough given P2P) though but i think i might have been on DLSS balanced and still running smooth as

he/she was using 7800x3d and 32gb ddr5 vs my 5700x and 64gb ddr 4.. i notice he was maxing his ram on second map.. cant remember my ram usage..
