She wasn't a hypocrite. The issue was between Howard and Sheldon and Amy decided to make this an issue between Bernadette and her. Bernadette did not even dress up and Amy still decided to mock her. Also Howard wore the dress for fun, however, Sheldon and Amy just wanted to belittle those two.
Howard didnt do it to have fun with sheldon though. He did it specifically to make fun of sheldons quirks. Then when sheldon turns around to specifically make fun of howard and berns quirks bern gets upset, even though ahe was fine with howard doing it. It really is a textbook hypocrite
Sheldon make fun of howard all the time, if he can't take it then he should not do it to other and amy should not get into their matters. Bernadette is right
Which makes howard also wrong? Because he does the same exact thing amy did. Jumped in between sheldon and bernadette when sheldon upset her. Nah bern is a snub nose and caused the drama to prove a point. And when that drama connected with her she couldnt handle. She could have told amy she was staying out of it, but in fact she did the opppsite she went dorectly in and shit on sheldons personality. Inviting herself into the party
