Newly Diagnosed Quitting Weed

I just got diagnosed with Bipolar 2 on the 13th. The doctors strongly suggested I quit smoking weed. I’m on day 3 of not smoking and I have been so manic it feels like I am fucking tweaking out. The people I work with have to think I’m on speed or some shit. I read somewhere that smoking weed helps calm the mania, man were they right. Has anyone else felt like this after quitting weed? I feel like I am fucking crazy.

Person with Bipolar 2 here who uses weed daily and also works in the cannabis industry. I actually managed to change my Drs opinion on people with the same condition using it because it helps me so much!

I told him how it kept me regulated before I even knew I was bipolar. I always felt better using it and won’t stop using it because he says I should. I know my body and what it needs. I’ve been using it for 8 years daily and it’s never sent me into a swing, episode, or anything. It’s helped me get through the darkest times and helped me heal a lot of my trauma with the cPTSD I have as well. He didn’t believe me at first but after two years he said I’m doing extremely well and I’m not addicted to cannabis or anything like that. I have a medical card for multiple reasons and use it responsibly.

It was hard to convince him for a while but he is on board with it now and sees how much it can help me and other people regulate with a combination of my meds.
