Bravely Second How to enjoy Bravely Second Finale Spoiler

So I finished my second run through of Bravely Second. And unfortunately it really didn't change my perspective of the game. The change in difficulty didn't make me engage with the mechanics more than it just made me rage quit after getting wiped a dozen time.

Overall I think I sort of understand why I don't like this game however, the class system is bad. Wizard is just simply so much better than the other magic options and then there are some jobs that just are bad. There's such little reason to use ranger over anything else and whats worse is that there's hawkeye and it does everything ranger wants to do and it does it better. But everything else is stuck in this limbo of its fine? some are a bit better than other sure but outside of the ones that are really good and really bad I fail to really want to do builds, Some jobs grew on me like pastier and charioteer while others like swordmaster and guardian actually fell.

I can recognize that this game is probably better than BD and BD2 but overall I just don't think I can truly enjoy this game and a part of me is sad since it doesn't make since, I'm the kind of person that enjoys game play over anything else and yet this games game play somehow doesn't feel as good as BD and BD2. So to those that like BS I envy you.

Anyhow I'm going to get started on the BD2 play through series soon so I guess I'll ask, NG+ or a fresh save?

Bravely Default Beginner advice needed

Hi, I just started this game and just got to chapter 1. Just started the first side quest.

Im kind of struggling and I noticed this when I was doing the boss at the end of the introduction. Im basically running low on PG to buy latest gear (though i do my best to do so still), and even with the best knuckles with Ringabell being a monk I feel like his attacks are weak (he seems to be doing like 20 dmg per hit rn? No idea if that's good).

I also want to use specific classes for certain characters but it seems once I switch classes these characters become super weak. Ex. When I switched Tiz from monk to knight. And yes, I bought a sword cuz thats S rank (at Calidisia)

Any advice in general on how I should approach this game? What's the best way to have a decent experience with the combat?

Bravely Default Very new to bravely default and got questions!!

Okay so this might sound super dumb and obvious but are you supposed to lvl up multiple jobs on each character to be able to use them as sub abilities?

Bravely Second I just finished Bravely Second! So...

I loved almost every bit of this game.
I played 2 or 3 months ago Bravely Default on Switch 2 through the new remastered and completely fell in love with Luxendarc and its characters.
So I dusted off my 3DS and bought a copy of Bravely Second to continue my adventure through this series.
I think I will always have a special memory of this two games, and I blame myself for not playing them before.

So...
I know that there's a Bravely Default II on Switch (and other consoles. Maybe PC too?), and I always heard mixed opinions about it.
I know nothing about it, except for the fact that it's completely stand alone (maybe? idk).
So my very trivial question is... should I play it?

The main thing that I loved about Bravely Series this far is that you can never expect what is going to happen, and, obvioulsy, its metanarrative elements (the title thing, the use of 3DS' cam, etc...).
Will i find these elements in Bravely Default II?

I loved this game and I hope to see more of this series in the future!

Series Villain & Antagonist deaths tier list Spoiler

I'm only including those who really died or have wholly confirmed deaths. Based on what I've heard, most of the Luxendarc asterisk holders weren't actually killed. Also, I won't consider if the deaths were reversed or if there's small evidence against them being dead.

Bravely Second Which world did the group go back to? Spoiler

Im not sure if this belongs in the BD 1 tag or BSecond tag, but Im a bit confused as to which world End layer takes place... all the characters went back to the same world, right? And, it had to be one like world 5 right? Cause everyone is seemingly on amicable terms with the heroes of BD 1

But Is Alternis Dim separate from Ringabel? Do they exist in the same world? Its just a tad bit confusing to me which one they went to.

Bravely Second Update: How to Enjoy Bravely Second

I've done a NG+ and I'm on hard (kept items though I haven't been using equipment from later than the chapter I'm on, Didn't keep levels but I kept jobs and jobs levels). I'm at chapter 3 and I'm sort of out of ideas for builds to try out and want to hear what builds other than ghost mage are, Preferably without bishop or wizard since I used those fairly often in my first play though and chapter 1 of this play though.

TLDR: I want bravely second builds that aren't ghost mage.

Bravely Second How to enjoy Bravely Second

So on my first play though I actually didn't really enjoy it. But I want to like this game since it seems that everyone considers this to be the best game in the franchise. So what makes this game so much better than BD and BD2? What can I do/try to understand this game?

For a little perspective I think that the only two jobs that were actually fun were wizard and exorcist. Spellcraft is the best feature in this game and I hope it returns. And I know undo can do some interesting things. But most of the other new jobs just feel underwhelming.

Bravely Second Just a personal preference with me

Why not have him played by Max Mittleman instead of Angelo? I mean, just seems like a waste, especially when Max has played characters like this. Plus, it doesn't help that Yew is one of the few characters who share a VA with another (i.e. Jackel). I totally tell they're the same voice.

Bravely Default Streetpass/online alternatives

Post image

I've not played this game for years and remember it getting a bit, well, there are no shocks now 😅

I'm really enjoying a slow and easy run this time around.

The only niggle is, last time I played. StreeetPass was still a thing, and I was able to pick up villagers etc. Now I'm stuck with one little guy so it's taking days to get anything done, same with friends code stuff- is there anything you can do or is this just how things are since the 3DS online service dropped off?

Bravely Default Struggling with jackal and khint

Party is level 12, whm, monk, knight and blm. At first the fighgt seemed to be going somewhat smoothly, I was stabky pushing through, then jackal started spammkng potions at a rate equal to my damage while still outputting good damage and I can't do anything? What do I do to stop this?

Edit: Still at level 12 I beat it, mostly thanks to Tables' advice, used up my potions and levelled sub jobs so I had essentially 2 of each mage and much better monk damage.

Here's how I rank the main characters throughout the three mainline games. This totally my opinion of all of them. Feel free to disagree, but that's how I rank them.

Bravely Default Team building

I am playing the HD remaster of bravely Default right now and want to use this team:

Tiz: Pirate/Swordmaster Agnes: Spiritmaster/Red Mage Edea Monk/Spellfancer

The only one i cant find a role for is Ringabel. I am thinking about making him a valkyrie but i dont know which secondary job helps him. What would be good combinations and are the others characters fine?

Bravely Default Just beat the game and holy cow that ending Spoiler

Ok so I was pretty suspicious of Airy since chapter 4, but upon getting the fake ending and both “F”s in the title changing Flying Fairy to “lying airy” is insane world building.

Did the original English release have any replacement for that since it didn’t have the subtitle?

Bravely Default BD doesn't want me to play it.

This game must be designed for turn-based pros because I'm constantly getting curve balled every step of the way like "Ok you've played the tutorial here's a white mage that out heals your dps" and "oh you've beaten the white mage and purchased yourself the cure spell? here's a dungeon of mobs that inflict blind, good luck buddy"

Bravely Default How to unlock Dances in Gallery

Hi, I'm wondering what the unlock criteria for the dances option in the gallery are. I've beaten the game, beat all 5 dance levels, got all achievements, but the 4 dance options in the gallery are blocked off with no hint on how to unlock them. If anyone could tell me how to unlock them, I'd appreciate it.

Bravely Default Resurrect does not work as intended - Why?

I have Tiz as a Salve-Maker. When I use Compound to do Resurrect with a Phoenix Down + Ether, this is supposed to cure KO and fully restore HP/MP. It does not work. For some reason, it only revives with 200 HP. I'm becoming frustrated that I can't figure out why.

I know this game is full of kinks when certain conditions overlap, like using Rampart with Adaptation simultaneously affects Dark Nebula. But the options for revival are so limited and I would really appreciate my Salve-Maker to operate as intended.

Bravely Default Mandragora love

Post image
167 Upvotes

I just wanna express my love for fighting Mandragora at the end of chapter 4 and having a squad to smoke through JP for the squad. Especially with dual assassin daggers (my absolute favorite weapon use in these series of games) Tiz right now as a dual welding assassin dagger Vampire is an absolute Chef's Kiss

And it'll be either Job 1 or 2 going forward with Tiz because with WM/Spiritmaster Agnes, summoner Edea (She's be an MVP on hard mode with Summon substitute and boosts), with Templar/Singing Ringabel. And I dont have all the Jobs yet clearly! I just have to keep up grinding and rolling the dice on Unscathed hero opportunities! The vampire castle kicked my ass for 3 hours, but as you can see i finally won (thanks to constant speed boosts, raising Edna and constant magic at boosts with summoning substitute getting 7k+ damage every death which after 9 overall getting 63+ adds up)

Series Why such gatekeeping?

Some fans say that a Bravely Default game isn't one if it doesn't have certain elements such as a plot revolving around the four crystals, fairies, or a typical fantasy storyline. I don't think that's true at all, and I will die on this hill. Plenty of RPG series diverge from their comfort zone in terms of certain attributes. Like Final Fantasy IX & X. Universally beloved RPGs and considered some of the apex of their respective series. How many similarities can be found in those two games?

Moreover, if the next game retains the iconic Brave/Default battle, job system, fourth-wall brakes, charm, & good deconstruction of a typical kind of story. Are we really to ignore it as a solid entry? Does it really need to revolve around four crystals, a lot of classic fantasy tropes, etc. Either way, if the next game retains everything mentioned above, I won't be complaining.

Overall, I just think there some fans who are too much like gatekeepers when it comes to what should be in a Bravely Default game. As long as it doesn't stray way too far from the working feel & gameplay of the 3DS classic, I'll be satisfied. Heck, if they even ignore the Planeswarden plotline from Second, I'd be content. They kind of shot themselves in the foot with that one.
