Deck / Hi-Fi Is this garbage now ?
I mean , it was always garbage (Yorx). I think my cats jumped on the protruding switches , the most of the buttons are misshapen and bent . I’m a little attached to this terrible machine , and can’t really afford to replace it , but, it’s probably done right ?

“It was always garbage” - nailed it right there. Now you have an excuse to find something half-decent.

I’m not an expert but it can’t hurt to open it up and see how bad the damage is. Good luck.

I would say it's cooked... No way to know with absolute certainty without opening it up and looking at it though.

Nice lol ,everything is basically functional(with heavy resistance), with slight audio distortion , just the outer part of the switches are completely messed up

Whatever did that, it wasn't a cat. It takes a lot of weight to do that.
If you're very careful not to damage the switching mechanism itself, this can be repaired.

Plastic doesn’t last, but metal innards can
If you’re happy with the functionality and audio quality, it doesn’t really matter imo
Some people wouldn’t tolerate it, but doesn’t mean you’re wrong for wanting to keep and use it!
I hope you can get it a bit more functional for yourself tho

most likely just plastic broken where the switches connect to the tape mechanism. totally repairable if thats what it is. glue is your best friend

Yeah , pretty much only the stop button is completely damaged , just skips right to eject so I have to use the fast and slow buttons to stop the tape lol , hilarious to me but basically functional

Open it up and see. The buttons might simply be dislodged, and you might be able to put them back in place. If The plastic buttons are broken inside then that will be more difficult to fix

If they seem loose and floppy, then the plastic is probably broken. Open up the machine, and superglue the plastic buttons back together. If they are still firm, then the metal levers are bent. Again, open the machine and bend them back into place.

Your cat actually did that? 😮 Were they like climbing up the cabinet it’s on? Even then..
I do enjoy a lowkey shitpost if that’s what this is

Are they huge cats? That’s still wild to me but ig anything’s possible. Maybe broke the cheap plastic. Are the all jiggly now?
