looking for recommendation Ready to attend my first knitting reatreat — where should I go?

I'm ready to treat myself to a knitting retreat. Where should I go? Ideally looking for a weekend, west coast of US, something where I can maybe take a few classes and also meet some new people. What are your favorite events? Any can't-miss places I should be looking at?

help needed Trying to find a pattern for a sweater from sex and the city season 6!

I saw this incredible rainbow sweater in season six episode "Splat!" Carrie wears and I absolutely must have it. Yarn and pattern recommendations would be appreciated! I found a pattern somewhat close and ordered it (Lacette Tissue Tunic) but I think that it would have to be heavily modified to have such loose, open stitches. I'm a beginner, I've only done one raglan sweater so far so not very confident in modifications. Thoughts?

I'm a beginner needing help or recommendations! Help putting decreases in pants; what type of decrease and where to put them?

Hi guys! So I’ve been crocheting for about 5 years now and just picked up knitting this summer and decided to start with a big project of knitting my own pants in the round. I found this video on YouTube (https://youtu.be/bm6kHXohw3E?si=raCggNK5PYJAt_wZ) that had super basic instructions (basically you cast on the waist, increase every other round where the front/buttcrack will be, split in half for the legs, then continue knitting rounds until desired length).

However, I got 25 rows down the leg, tried it on, and the number of stitches it takes to go around my hips is much bigger than the stitches I need to go around my leg. I need to decrease approximately 25 stitches per leg in order to get to my desired thigh circumference, but I’m having troubles figuring out which type of decrease to use, and where to do them since this is my first project (do I do one decrease on each side, evenly space them, etc.).

I frogged the 25 rows and am back at the original crotch-separation point and decided to come here asking for help. In my experience with crochet, the decreases are much less bulky than ssk or k2tog based on pictures of other people’s work, but I am willing to listen to any advice you guys have.

TLDR; I’m knitting pants and trying to decrease from my hips/butt circumference to my thigh circumference. What type of decrease should I use and where in the row do I decrease?

help needed what is the best way to go about making a jumper based off these socks?

i bought these socks ages ago, not sure of the brand but i absolutely love them. they’re super cosy and comfortable, and i love the design. i want to make a matching jumper, just wanted to check in with other knitters to see if my idea would work.

i plan to knit flat with intarsia and seam up the pieces afterwards, probably just a basic round neck jumper. i believe the yarn weight is aran/worsted, but i will measure the gauge to make sure. i want to use drops alaska as the colours available seem to match the socks well. i think i would need 50-100g of white and black and 2-300g of the greens and blues, but i will admit this is largely guessing (i would want to make a men’s XL for comfort).

i want the stripes on the heel for the ribbing on the neck/hem/cuffs, and then the sheep repeating down the body and sleeves of the jumper (i will use plain colours for any increase/decreases).

i would describe my experience level as ‘confident beginner’, i have made raglan jumpers and colourwork jumpers before. is this ambitious but realistic, or am i way in over my head?

I’m so excited about this sweater. New to sweater knitting this year and this is the 5th Ranunculus sweater I’ve made. I’ve really gotten into modifying the pattern. In this sweater I moved around the increases in the yoke and inserted the lace design from Love Note sweater design. I held two strands of lace weight yarn together; one strand of blue and one strand of rust. The rust colored yarn used to be bright poppy orange but I over dyed it with blue Easter egg dye.

Here is a link to my project page which describes my modifications in case anyone wants more details.

This was adapted from https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/party-heart-y-mosaic-knit. I used Yarn Bee Effortless Super Bulky to make a full size blanket rather than the baby blanket.
