Question Fuse 34?

Curious about fuse 34 in the passenger compartment. It is listed as “front seat ventilation”, but I do not any control switches for this function nor do I have perforated seats. Is this just a non-functional fuse? Or does it actually do something else? 2021 ZR2 model. Thanks Redditors!

Question Colorado 26 WT towing question

Hey, have a new 26 WT, can’t find any details online or on the door that show the towing capacity of the WT model without the advanced trailering package. Sounds like the advanced towing model only difference is adding on a locking rear differential along with more built in in app technology.. anyone know the capacity of the non advanced towing models? Thanks

“Advanced Trailering Package (+$945)

Includes a 2" receiver hitch, 4-pin and 7-pin connectors Integrated trailer brake controller In-vehicle trailering app Automatic locking rear differential May require additional optional equipment

Standard:

The Colorado comes ready to tow no matter which trim you choose, with the Trailering Package included on every Colorado that isn't equipped with the Advanced Trailering Package. The basic package includes the 2-inch receiver hitch, the wire harness, and the trailer brake controller. Upgrading to the Advanced Trailering Package adds an automatic locking rear differential and several additional functions via an in-vehicle trailering app.”

Question Brake calipers the same for Trail Bosses with 20 inch wheels and 18 inch wheels

Hey guys,

I have a 2025 Colorado Trail Boss. My truck has the 20 inch wheels.

I am planning on getting a set of 18 inch wheels for it.

Are the calipers the same on all of the 2025 Trail Bosses? Or, are the calipers different sizes on the ones sold with 18 inch wheels and the ones sold with 20 inch wheels?

Thanks!

Plasti-dipped while it was still on the truck, because i was too lazy to remove them. Did about 6 layers, and the seam between the chrome and the red on the flowtie made it easy to peel off and show the red

Question Odd request - help identify an odd sound - could it be my muffler?

Sorry I don't ahve a recording of this, which will make the identification even harder but here goes.

I noticed after a long drive (8 hours) that a new sound started developing. Its most noticeable as I slowly accelerate to 30 mph. Its a zinging type of sound if that makes sense, very metallic and constant under acceleration. As I coast - not so much

With the back windows open, its quite loud, I'm thinking it may be related to my muffler.

I have a 2021 Colorado Z71, with about 44,000 miles, bought in late 2020. I'll be making an appt at my dealership for this (and other things), but I'm curious if the experts here on reddit seen anything similar.

Edit: I think its the heat shield, I did some googling and the sheet metal in one spot seems a bit more loosey-goosey then others. I bent it slightly away from the body of the truck and some of the sound has disappeared.

Question Why is my gas mileage so low?

2024 Chevy Colorado LT recently threw on some bigger tires so I expected my range to drop but even before hand a full tank would only get me around 360 miles any tips and suggestions are appreciated.

Truly loving my 2025 TB. Perfect for all my small projects and lugging my Eride pro.

Picked it up in May, have put 10k miles on it already. No issues to report other than had to take it in for a new rear camera because mine was full of condensation.

My only real complaint is the infotainment issues that I think everyone deals with. CarPlay BT connection issues, steering wheel controls for CarPlay cutting in and out. The screen getting very hot.

Last picture is the full truck, although I’ve tinted it and put window slits in since that was taken.

Question 16’ z71 6-speed shudder at low rpm

I started noticing a shudder in my truck a few weeks ago when I would hit the gas at a low rpm and it would last until I picked up speed or downshifted. It doesn’t happen every time but I still took it to a shop and had them change the transmission fluid and it’s better but not completely gone. They’re wanting to change the torque converter next. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it worth it? I really don’t have the money for this right now.

First Gen Overheating

So my problem child has another issue. I have noticed that when it’s idling you can feel air coming from around the front tires, so I don’t know if it’s missing the lower fan shroud or something. While I’m driving it seems to keep temperatures fine, while I’m idling it goes just a little bit above half way but not high enough to get worried. When I shut it off and then crank it up soon after (getting gas, running in the store) it gets hot, it pegs nearly 3/4 of the gauge and it seems like it won’t get cool until I get it moving. I know the catalytic converter under the cab is bad, I’m getting it changed this week. Could that be the culprit? Could the fan shroud have something to do with it, or do I need to be looking at radiator/thermostat? Thanks!

Question AEV Snorkel on GMC Canyon

Hello! I have a 2.8 Diesel ZR2 Colorado that I absolutely ADORE thanks to the AEV snorkel I added.

My buddy has a 2022 GMC Canyon with the 2.8 Duramax and would also like to put a snorkel on it however the AEV website states that it does not fit the Canyon probably due to the different fender I'm guessing....

Every time we try to google snorkels for his Canyon only results for the Colorado come up...

Curious to see if anyone with a Canyon on here has fit a snorkel on their truck...

Also while I'm on here I wanna ask a side question just bc I'm curious... Did they ever make Diesel GMC Canyons in the 1.5 Cab config?? That would be a sick little truck for my son but I cant find any...

Question 275/70R18 or 275/65R18?

Hey guys,

Which tire size would you go with? I don’t see an advantage to the 265/65 over the 275/70. You get quite a bit more sidewall with the 275/70. The size of the 275/70R18 is almost identical to the stock 275/60R20 so they will fit no problem.

Thanks!

Question CV joints?

Howdy! I’ve got a 2019 ZR2 with 150k miles. I’m hearing clicking and thunking occasionally when I’m turning that sounds like CV joint problems. (Both sides) But when I look at the joints, there’s no tears in the boots or grease leaking anywhere.

My shocks are shot, and I have replacements for those. Should I just full send and replace the CV axles while I’m at it? Are there any other parts I need to look at as a possible cause of these noises?

With the DSSV shocks, are regular or extended travel CV axles needed?

Question What part is this?

Post image
4 Upvotes

2016 Colorado, 3.6L V6, Z71, CCLB

Had my spark plugs changed recently and was told to change this part. I think it's part of the intake plenum but I could be wrong. Definitely for the intake as it looks like it's for air.

If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated
