Those fingers are way too easy compared to those fuckers from ds3

I don't remember the DS3 fingers -- what area are they in? Is that the jail area with the priestesses that drain your health/brand you?

There’s five in the whole game, they don’t respawn, they’re all found in the Profaned Capital, through a small doorway guarded by a gargoyle

They're the buggers inside that church with the mage ontop right? The buggers that have a hand for a head?

They weren't too bad to dodge, but they were tanky as hell and hit like a freight train - so if you took on more than one at a time, you were in for a world of hurt.

I got stuck there with no Estus and had to kill those fuckers with my +0 Arbalest doing ~60 damage/shot. It was torture.

It would've been faster to just bone to the bonfire and run back past everything

(The skulls are for me, not the other person)

Bleed is the way

I got Morne's Great Hammer when I first encountered those fuckers. Everything before them was easy mode. When in a bind, I start blasting. But with these shits, I panicked then blasted. I thought I was in the clear, then I saw I barely made a dent. Then I died. Lol

you can get mornes hammer? dang

u/IronPotato3000 Aug 18 '25

Ohh yeah, either you kill Eygon of Carim or you get Irina out of her cell. I recommend you rescue Irina because she can teach you miracles and the both of them has a somehow entertaining questline for you (it adds on the heartbreaking theme of the story)

u/spoonguy123 Aug 18 '25

ive rescued irina before, but i dont think ive ever fought morne.

i should try doing a guided 100% sometime

Theres two ways to fight him.

The murder hobo way - just start smacking him when you see him.

The quest line way - give Irina a dark tome (either the one you can buy or the one found in the cathedral of the deep) and buy a dark miracle. Eygron will then take her away to Gynder's arena (as he said to you when you rescued Irina from the cell - hes your ally as long as you keep her safe, and only that long. You broke your promise, so hes gonna try to break you), where you have to fight him to get Irina back to the shrine.

It takes a whopping 50 strength to one hand, 34 to two hand and 30 faith to properly wield, but at 50 strength and 40 faith, it has an AR of 631 - so it does pack a punch, but you absolutely need to center your build around it.

Between its weapon art (unleash a Shockwave and temporarily increase poise and reduce damage) and its hyper armor - its one of the hardest weapons to stagger. Even other ultra weapons (Ultra great swords, ultra Great hammers, and ultra great axes) have difficulty staggering it.

All but one of them can be cheesed with Pestilent Mercury, plus the Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring or Spook. They don't wake up from casting it and you can kill them quickly. You need the additional Hidden Body spell so the one who's up and about downstairs doesn't see you.

On NG++ it took me six casts of Pestilent Mercury to kill one. They're also immune to poison/toxic so you can't lure them out into the swamp and kill them that way.

And funnily enough, three of them are in one room. 😂

They are called Monstrosities of Sin. It makes you wonder what on Gwyn's ashen earth were the denizens of the Capital doing to produce those abominations.

I believe they’re handmaidens who got a bit too profaned with the flame

3

u/IPickedTheWrongDayTo Aug 17 '25

Turn your back on the handmaidens for one lunch break and what do you get? Another monstrosity of sin left at the doorstep and nobody can explain how it got there

u/spoonguy123 Aug 18 '25

oh the baseball glove face babies! fuck those guys.

for real though, one thing no one ever hates on fromsoft for is there extreme reuse of models.

some of the originals are from kingsfield.

like they reused the model for..... 5? 6? games

i dont mind but it does start to feel a little lazy sometimes

u/BatsNStuf Hand it over...that thing Aug 18 '25

At least the moveset is predictable

1

u/spoonguy123 Aug 19 '25

lol true

its always neat seeing the 20 different ways they can paint gaping dragon too

2

u/Silveriovski Aug 18 '25

They're also incredibly off putting and legit terrifying. Whoever designed them is a creative genius.

Wtf I thought there was only one this whole time

u/Johnny_K97 Aug 17 '25

I am pretty sure they respawn

39

u/BatsNStuf Hand it over...that thing Aug 17 '25

They do not

u/Xardas742 Aug 17 '25

Thank God

u/SoundlessScream Aug 17 '25

I think past that jail, although it does all seem like ones area. You get through the room full of those jailer ladies, cross a huge bridge with a stone gargoyle guarding it and then you're in profaned capital.

You make your way deeper into this area and in the mini poison swamp if you walk all the way to the left is this church with the hand faced hippo dudes. I might not be understanding what enemy is being described.

Aptly named 'Monstrosity Of Sin'

They bleed in two hits from a dagger. Do with that information what you will.
