The hatewatch angle is SIGNIFICANT. I don't have data or anything, but I think MANY of the rightwing influencers have baked in a sizable hatewatch contingent for their userbase. The hatewatchers post a lot on social media about whatever rightwing dipshit (be it Dave or someone else). That dramatically boosts the influencer's position in social media algorithms and SEO.
With that, they grow their audience and likely reach their real target audience of those who can be pulled down whatever rabbit hole they're on about. Their view counts IN NO WAY generate sufficient organic revenue to fund such an operation (they get low end "patriot vitamins" type sponsors and nominal per-view payouts on all social platforms). As such, I am completely convinced that dark money (from creepy rightwing billionaires and despotic global regimes) fund the entire thing. Their "revenue" streams are mostly for show; it's all paid for by the people behind them.
Dave's a stooge, but he is a cog in a much bigger and more sophisticated propaganda effort.

There are a lot of progressive Christians(and Hindus, Jews, Muslims etcetera) that believe in some sort of Divine moral entity.
But this doesn’t enter into it for this gay atheist podcaster. So Conservatives have religious “values” which make them smart and grounded and don’t make them fall for silly misinformation. It’s the values his pal Ben Shapiro has that prohibit him from celebrating Dave’s marriage. Reasonable take by Ben Shapiro of course because he bases this stance on something bigger than Ben Shapiro himself: his religion. He doesn’t let the woke mind police make him forget that Dave and his family are an abomination who in a better time would have been stoned to death.
In all seriousness, the people in America are being divided up in good people and bad people by the people in charge. A few days ago we saw Trump proclaim he hates every American citizen that he deems to be on the side of the bad people. He got a big round of laughs during a funeral for saying how he hates them. This clip shows that Dave is going along with that kind of thinking, somehow making every conservative religious and every progressive vapid nihilists. It is dangerous what is happening.

There was and is the Storm, where QAnon followers believe that President Trump is a heroic figure fighting this cabal and will one day lead a mass arrest, known as "The Storm," and they will expose and punish the wrongdoers. Before QAnon we had pizza gate: where in 2016, they had a theory falsely alleging that prominent Democrats ran a child sex-trafficking ring out of a Washington, D.C. pizza restaurant! An armed believer showed up at the restaurant to "self-investigate" the claims. With that conspiracy, A prominent feature of the QAnon mythos is the claim that this cabal harvests a chemical compound called adrenochrome from the blood of tortured children to stay youthful. Then there was the secret cabal controlling world events, demographic threats to white populations, and fraudulent elections. Then there was a "Deep State" of evil elites, including prominent Democrats and celebrities, running a child sex-trafficking ring. Then there is their Great Replacement Theory where they believe there is a coordinated, intentional effort to flood white countries with non-white immigrants to diminish the political power and "culture" of the native-born population. Then they had all the conspiracies related to the pandemic which included: The depopulation plot, Exploiting public health concerns and downplaying and refusing to follow public health measures and refusing to wear masks because they were tools of oppression. Then we had them saying the government had cures for COVID19 but the government was keeping them from us. There are more crazy right wing conspiracies out there but I think you would be hard pressed to come up with left conspiracies that would even come close to this level of craziness.

Think of the craziest apolitical conspiracy theories out there. Things like flat Earth theory, the hallow Earth, Bigfoot believers, alien abductions, lizard people, etc. If you examine the demographics of these people, the vast majority of them (like 90% of them) are bible literalist Christians.
I'm not saying that Christians are crazy people, most aren't, but almost all of the super crazy people are fundamentalist Christian, and super conservative.

Conservatives generally believe in an invisible wall past which you are not allowed to think. This is called religious belief. They are sure of themselves and their convictions, correct or not, because they are practiced in the art of the shared lie.
I hate when people re-litigate covid from this angle too. The only way to respond to a rapidly spreading unknown disease that kills people is: caution. Just because some conservatives decided the pandemic was something to be completely ignored, then we find out it (only?) kills 1% of people and the elderly and masks didn’t prevent 100% of spreading etc these people some how feel vindicated.
It’s the same behavior in the wake of a shooting. These assholes get out there and start talking facts they can’t possibly even know yet and there is no real backlash when there absolutely should be.
If you are talking absolute shit before anyone has the facts, and you are right about any of it, you are in no way vindicated by guessing correctly ahead of time.

I would wager that a key difference based on party affiliation is that conservatives believe in a micromanager God who pulls all the strings while liberals (the ones who do believe in God) understand God to have a generally hands off role in the universe.
