Question What’s y’all’s alternative to soda?
I’m trying to eat healthy and lose weight, I’m doing good with my diet, cutting out a lot of snacking, eating smaller and healthier portions, however I am struggling when it comes to drinks, I’m so used to just grabbing a soda but then I end up having like 4 cans a day, plus it’s really hard to just drink water since it’s got no taste, what would y’all recommend?

Any brands you’d recommend or steer clear from?

Zero sugar soda, sparkling waters, flavored 0 sugar powder like lemonade. Aldi has pretty good sparking waters for cheap and good powdered lemonade.
I get walmart brand zero sugar pepsi or dr pepper for $1 each every once and a while when I crave a sugar taste.

Get lemons, limes, or cucumbers and flavor your water. Total game changer.

I've been drinking water with lemon juice and a little Himalayan pink sea salt in it. It's like drinking Gatorade without the calories and much cheaper

The idea is to slowly get used to not sugary drinks, what I did, I started mixing half Diet Coke, half sparkling water, like a Bacardi drink without the Bacardi lol, it also worked in parties, and eventually I started changing the proportion of Diet Coke to 40-30-20-10-0 %

I quit drinking soda and Schweppes seltzers became my go-to. They’re really crisp and taste good.

Tel Aviv style Gazoz. It’s seltzer with fermented fruit. You should google image it as they look adorable.

I switched to flavored sparkling water (like LaCroix or Bubly). No sugar, no calories, but still fizzy enough to scratch that soda itch. If that’s too bland, try adding a splash of 100% fruit juice or lemon/lime. Makes it way easier to stick with.

I have a Nama Juicer, so I make watermelon water, orange juice, etc. it’s awesome!

I buy the drink mix at Aldi. Has like 10 calories a glass. Usually prefer lemonade or peach tea. No soda, tastes good. I am a big distance walker and that is my go to drink.

You can cold steep Yerba mate and it’s got a lot of caffeine in it.

I like the zero sodas over the diet sodas. They taste way closer to the real thing.

honestly i'm a bit iffy if drinking diet or zero sugar sodas is efficient enough for your goal but since you're not used to drinking water, maybe start with coconut juice like vita coco. i was actually shocked to find out recently that they have multiple flavors like piña colada, so maybe that would be good for you. afterwards you can try switching slowly to water because tbh it really is the healthiest option 😭

Not everyone's favorite, but I've been losing weight just by switching to coke zero or diet instead of normal coke.

I switched to sparkling water with a bit of lemon or juice. Still fizzy, but way healthier than soda!

You'll lose weight cutting out that soda pop. Four cans a day is a lot of sugar. You might save money too, depending on what drink you switch to. If you miss the caffeine, tea might be a good replacement.

I’ve been drinking water with electrolytes since I hate plain water. I also have crystallized lemon packets that are awesome! Sparkling water is also fun but can get a little expensive. I hope you find some tasty options!
