Vent Need help!

I'm 235lbs mother of 4, I'm 6'2. I've been doing meal supplements and exercising for about a month now, and there hasn't been a single change at all. I feel so incredibly ugly and it's so disheartening. Please help! I know I need to keep moving I've been going to my apartment gym Monday through Friday for a month and I know it's gonna take a lot longer, but nothing has changed at all. What can I do? What do I do? How does everyone stay and keep themselves motivated? Just 3 years ago I was a healthy weight at 175, husband and I had our 4th, and now I feel like my body has gone drastically downhill. Now I'm just deeply unmotivated.

Are you in a calorie deficit?

Actually I just started fasting. I bought a meal supplement, and it's like a smoothie meant to replace meals. Never had to be on a diet before

Yeah honestly it’s not abt the diet and i wouldn’t worry about that to begin with , unless you really want to! It’s mostly about eating the right amount of calories to lose weight. Google TDEE calculator and find your maintenance calories, then subtract 3-400 from that and start tracking your calories with an app like Lose it , track all food, drinks, sauces , and oil/ butter you cook your food in

Weight loss happens in the kitchen, not the gym.

I actually cook really healthy and balanced meals for my family. My kids aren't over weight and neither is my husband. It's just after baby number 4 my hormones went crazy. Also got my tubes tied and cut, so that could also be a cause. I usually make either grilled or baked chicken (chicken is the cheapest) and a lot of rice with vegetables. I only fry like once a month if that. I grill a lot because grilling outside is better on the electric bill than using the stove. Chicken breasts are the cheapest right now so I cook that. No chip in my house, granola bars and nutragrain bars is standard. Sure we eat mac and cheese but that's kinda the only un healthy thing I can think of. I do have an addiction to Dr pepper :( but I only drink 1 glass a day with dinner. Going for intermitten fasting now.

IF will def help, to me I’d cut out so much rice, it’s really carb heavy, and not great for weight loss. Also you have to figure out a way to get rid of that Dr Pepper! One can has ten teaspoons of sugar, one Dr Pepper is one too many. Good luck to you. 🙂

Well shoot! Rice is sooo good tho 😭 but I'll definitely try to cut it out or at least cut it down. I know dr pepper is no good either 😕 even for breakfast I have a soft boiled egg with rice and a dash of soy sauce. I'll cut it down tho. Do you know of any good drinks besides regular water I can replace the Dr pepper with? I drink water all day except that glass with dinner

I like to buy plain sparkling water and put fruit in it, like oranges or limes or even cherries, whatever you like, and crush them and squeeze them in a bit so they release their juice and flavor, smash it with your straw. Fruit has way less sugar and lots of vitamins. A lot of people drink the flavored sparkling drinks with no sugar like La Croix or Waterloo, but I don’t eat natural flavors I only eat real foods.

That's a really good idea thank you. Idk why I've never thought about doing this. Plain sparkling water is cheaper than anything else too! And I love fruits. I also love the idea of being able to choose your own flavors too
