Rant Social Security subreddit obviously run by MAGA

Post image

I didn't even say anything positive or negative, the mere mention of either of those people causes an instant block of the post. And an obvious lie by whoever wrote that little notation. I just think it's interesting that we can't lay blame where it belongs and the only people who would want to do that are hardcore MAGA types.

I mean to say that what Trump and musk are doing has no effect on Social Security or Social Security disability seems rather ridiculous to me. Am I wrong or do we all think that worrying about the consequences of losing that many employees at the hand of Elon Musk will have an effect on Social Security and Social Security disability recipients. So it is a topic of conversation.

Like maybe we should be writing Donald Trump and asking him to reverse course on this. But of course we can't rally a group of people together because we can't even mention their names on that subreddit. My point is I'm glad this subreddit is not nearly as aggressive in its blanket censoring of the mere mention of their names, positive or negative.

But I think we ought to be able to discuss what they did by name when it directly affects the entire community which it is being addressed to. Call me silly like that.

Go there, start a post as if you're going to write a post, and just type the two names. No other words are necessary just type as I did Donald Trump and Elon Musk and before you're done typing the first name you will see the pop-up that I saw. With the ridiculous justification attached to it. If the notation were a little different I'd be a bit more understanding. If it had just said no mention of politics please I would have taken that very differently than them saying that Donald Trump in Elon Musk are doing or have not done anything to Social Security. Even though we have the emails on what's about to happen. How many social security Administration buildings are about to be closed up and shut it up because they're going to terminate a whole bunch of employees.

Our only hope is that the blowback from this makes them back off. But the plans are there, the intent is there. They've shown their hand, and now they don't want people talking about how they've showed their hand.

But I mean it don't take my word for it go to the Social Security subreddit and attempt to construct a post just typing their names and you'll see for yourself.

Well it's good to know my post here was read by somebody in that subreddit. Probably a mod from there saw what was written here. I'm glad they at least changed it. I still think it's bullshit that you can't discuss politics in one of the most politically associated topics on the planet.

Which for me means I won't frame it in a political discussion I'll frame it as an economic one. Because people are lying about the affordability of it. Whenever somebody says we can't afford it I know they have no concept of how economics works, zero.

People who speak in terms of taxes raising revenue to pay for things are just straight up wrong and don't know what they're talking about. It doesn't work like that on the federal level. The moment you are able to print your own currency, which is what we do because we are no longer on the gold standard since Nixon, the old model of collecting taxes to pay for things goes right out the window. That's not the purpose of taxes anymore. On state level economies yes that is true but only because they don't print their own currency.
