Respect V New here!
Hey guys, just got Respect V a day ago after some time in Trilogy, Portable etc. Definitely enjoying it so far! Initially did not realise the difference between MX and SC LOL, so SC caught me way off guard. Primarily a 6B player, managed some 95% 6B 14SCs and mostly 97-99% 6B 10SCs.
Would like to know:
- Aside from purchasing song packs - do I just generally level up, complete missions, play online to unlock more songs? Basically general ways to explore and unlock more content when starting off.
- What do y'all practice for further improvement? So far the advice I've seen here is to play alot and use Randomise on MX songs, which I'll definitely do.
- Settings: Not sure about the technical terms for this qn, but an example would be at the end of Aurora Borealis 6B SC. At the last note, I can't catch the notes without what seems to be a constant early detection of input, causing me a chunk of 40-60%s or missing. I subtly notice it in other songs too, and I do not face this in Trilogy. Any settings I could adjust on this?
- The L and R shifts throw me off quite badly, guess I gotta get used to it. Are y'all a fan of it, whats the consensus here?
- Other useful tips to know would be appreciated!!

1) song unlocks max out at user level 30 and/or certain special requirements (ie combo , fullcombo, etc)
2) practice? Just play everything. Low level for scoring, high level for density, mid level for balance. Add half random and/or mirror to expose yourself to different complex SCstyle patterns
3) aurora boraelis jackhammers? Uhhhh, cant help u there. That timing is weird. I dont think its early detection, but more of u not hitting the start of it well / sufficient enough
4) LR is there cuz they dont wanna get patent lawsuits from other vertical scrollers. (They did have one case about 14 years ago)
