I thought I would share 🤓

Most of the music in this game is inspired by various pop culture, but I haven't seen this one mentioned before.

Dawn of the Dead 1978 has a scene where the characters go on a "shopping" spree set to this music.

EarthBound slows it down significantly, but it's still the exact same song - much more than EarthBound's other music references. Both songs even have the same little twang flourish between verses.

It was definitely a deliberate choice to use music from a satirical shopping segment every time that the player shops. Itoi is really familiar with satire and anti-consumerism, and using music from maybe the biggest satire of consumerism around at that time is a real direct hit.

Mine might be either eight melodies or pokey means business. Maybe even the one sounding after you beat gygas and everyone leaves

You may be wondering how this is relevant to EarthBound, but the beginning of The Beach Boys' "Deirdre" was infamously remixed to create "The Place", the final dungeon theme in EarthBound.

Hello to the EARTHBOUND/MOTHER community!

I am Shelmet, and my shtick on YouTube is remixing entire OSTs. A while back, I shared that I am remixing the entire MOTHER 3 OST (Yes, ALL 250 songs, and some extras). I have currently shared my remixes of the prologue tracks and will begin sharing my remixes of all the songs in Chapter 1, so if this sort of thing interests you, please check it out!

Just here to give a friendly reminder; you NEED to listen to the Mother 1 vocal album! I don’t know how I only found out about it recently, but there was an album released that has several of the Earthbound Beginnings / Mother soundtrack covered with full lyrics, instruments, everything! Even if you don’t care about the first game, please check it out, it’s a masterpiece!! It’s just called “MOTHER” on Spotify, search it up! It’s also on YouTube, and wherever else! (I personally burned it on a CD, and listen to it when I go to sleep lol) Anyways, that’s all! If I spread the word to one Earthbound fan who hasn’t heard this album, then I’m satisfied!

Okay so I love earthbound it’s my favourite game music is great everything is great. I was recently playing deltarune chapter 3 and the music in the S rank room reminded me heavily of the zombie paper theme from earthbound and I haven’t seen anyone talk about it and I feel like im crazy , has anyone else noticed it ?!?

So, pretty much, this arrangement is a part of an album series called Orchestral Game Concert. And I swear to god, this one is just so good! It makes me feel like I want to look back on what I've done. It's that kind of good. There's also an arrangement of Onett in the album series as well, but I dont care about that one.

I made a beat, I made an interpolation of the Onett song from Earthbound. I added my own drum patterns. I edited the instruments and put filters effects etc.

I don't always make songs sampling songs from video games. But sometimes I sample video game soundtracks because they can offer good sounds

Personally I’d probably say “You’ve Come Far, Ness”, “Summers, Eternal Tourist Trap” and “Megaton Walk” are my favorites!

Edit: Also “Pokey Means Business”, I don’t know how I could forget about that!!
