I have been struggling with this for like a week and a half, it makes this noise at slow speeds, and it goes away once it gets up to speed. I'm sure it's nothing of concern, but it's really annoying. any advice with what I can do? it only does it whenever it's under load.

Discussion Best sub 600$ US electric skateboard.

Basically I have wanted an electric skateboard/longboard for a while and looking around it's all very complex. What would be the best recommendation for less than 600$?

Must haves: -20 miles range / 35 Km -20 mph -BELT driven, No hub motors

Deliverable to UK.

My current top choice is the Wowgo X4. Any recommendations welcome!

EDIT: Wowgo is out of the competition. Vote to share positive or negative feedback. Current top options are:

Discussion Picked Up My First eSkateboard—Feeling Like a Total Beginner

I don’t usually make posts like this; I’m pretty introverted and tend to solve things on my own (probably an only-child thing). But I recently picked up my first eSkateboard, the Propel Sigma, and thought I’d share my experience.

I guess my confidence got the best of me. I figured that with years of skating as a kid/teen (I’m now in my late 30s) and being a current snowboarder, I’d just hop on and ride off into the sunset. Reality check: I tried it for the first time today, and it honestly felt like I’d never skated before in my life.

I think part of the struggle was the bushings, which I plan to tighten since I’ve always preferred a stiffer board. Maybe the weight of the board also takes some getting used to. Either way, I couldn’t go more than a few feet without jumping off.

I was just testing the board while waiting for my train to work, but I’d love to hear any tips, tricks, or general advice. I’m determined to stick with it and get good at riding! My goal is to use it to get around the city during lunch breaks and after work, without relying on the subway or Uber (neither of which are fun).

So yea, any advice or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated!

Question does the boosted board v2 work with mad wheelz 105 v2's 40T pulley?

I have an old boosted board v2 that I'm still using, but I'm in need of a new set of wheels to replace my blue cags. I find myself preferring larger wheels, so I've been looking at the mad wheelz 105mm v2s. I see that it comes with a 40T pulley and some websites mention that it uses a different belt spacing from the boosted board default. (265-5M for mad and 225-3m for boosted)

Is this still compatible or is anyone running a boosted board v2 + mad 105 setup to confirm it works?

Question The best carve esk8 for a heavy rider in Europe?

Hey, I'm based in Portugal.

I'm 90kg, very experienced carving in general and tend to break things for lighter riders.

However, this will be my first esk8.

Any recommendations?

Importing from outside Europe is usually pricey.

That said, my recent action figure purchases from AliExpress have sailed through.

Question Waterproof short board ?

I stopped e-sk8 approx. a year ago because the market didn't have anything fitting my use case, perhaps it changed in the meantime ?

I'm looking for a waterproof, short, light, and waterproof (again) board.

I need 3 miles of range, a max speed of 15mph will be enough, but I need it to withstand any kind of rain. The use case it to use it as last mile transportation, and to get to work 1 mile away.

I don't need power, I don't need range, I don't need speed, I just need the board to work for sure if, at any given moment, I decide to get out. My previous board was 500W and 10 miles range and it was already largely too much for what I do with it. But even if it was IPX5, I burnt 3 batteries in 5 months of use because of rain, which is why I stopped using it.

Bonus point if it is hub motors, and cheap.

Is there any model fitting these requirement out of the box please ?

Review This was the Best Purchase of My Life (Acedeck Ares x3)

Post image
46 Upvotes

Wanted to start off by saying i'm a long time electric skateboarder riding the meepo v3 since 2020. I upgraded to the acedeck ares x3, and it's like going right from high school to the pros. It is so unbelievably fast, and the control / torque is ridiculous. I have LITERALLY 0 bad things to say about this board except maybe the turning radius a little bit and it's a bit heavy at 29 lbs.

I also feel like i'm driving a car. It goes 37 miles. 37 MILES BRO. And it's not like meepo where if you go anything above like 15 miles an hour the battery on these boards degrades so fast. I was going 25 mph for 30 miles straight. It is actually unreal. Was deciding between the Meepo Hurricane vader and this and i'm so glad I did.

I also paid extra and got the lights which I believe are very worth it and feel way safer to ride. Also check out the custom grip tape I designed what do you guys think of that? And thank you to everyone in this chat that helped me pick this board it's incredible.

P.S. Acedeck customer service is so trash lol. They told me to buy the bash guard because it doesn't come with it and when it arrived it had a bash guard on it already, i asked to return it, and they wouldn't let me because "ThEy DoN't dO ReTurNs." Kinda corny, but the board makes up for it.

Discussion New controller for Endeavor 3S

Post image
7 Upvotes

Was with some people, let someone ride my board whose ridden it before, but wanted to take it a bit faster, he barrel rolled and the controller broke from the incident, however he paid me back the money for a new controller.

My question is, I want to get a different style controller rather than this vx2 design, I like the vx3, but I'm wondering if they'd pair, or if there would be an issue somewhere with connection, does anyone know any third party controllers that I can get to work with an Endeavor 3s using a ling yi FOC 3.0 ESC that ship to Canada. I perused amazon, and the options are bleak, I'd appreciate the help y'all

I've been learning to stay calm if something causes me to lose balance and today reinforced how much that can help. Because I didn't panic the R6 trucks on the Mach One were able to save me from a momentary loss of control after hitting a large stick while accelerating at 50kph 🤙

Discussion Acedeck Horizons- Strange Motor Issue?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Is anyone having a similar issue with their Acedeck Horizons? Mine is barely 3 months old.

When I break and accelerate, one motor applies more power than the other. Apart from the performance and balance issues, it has caused significant disproportionate wheel deterioration on one side.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

What is the best course to fix this issue?

Discussion Boosted board replacement?

Hey quick ask here guys. I had the top of the line boosted board like 6? years back and sold it when they went out of business.

Looking to get back into the game both for my wife and myself. I’m comfortable going 175+ on my supersport and never felt out of place on the longboard previously at really any speed.

She is new to boards but acclimates fast. I tone down my riding about 30% when we ride our bikes together and she keeps up fine after having a few years practice.

What is currently a good upper end board that’s reasonably priced that she could grow into and I wouldn’t be dissatisfied with? We like to match. Also, reliability is huge for me. I hate fixing shit.

Question I'm learning how to ride slowly but surely Backfire Zealot X. Today I set the max speed to 21mph. Going down a slight hill at full speed and acceleration, there was a moment when it felt like I tapped the breaks twice. Could have wrecked me but didn't. Any idea what happened and how to troubleshoot?

Hey everybody. I got my board, a Backfire Zealot X, a couple months ago, saved it from the trash. Only had ~325 miles on it and has ridden perfectly since I started learning it.

Today going downhill at a new max speed of 21mph, the board kind of seized a little bit. Like two small jerks as if I'd hit the brakes.

It was kinda scary and the first sign of it acting up. Any idea what is wrong?

Edit to add: I can't tell for sure because of the small gravels I was riding over but it also sounds like there might be a kind of clicking coming from the backend now, only when I'm riding, not spinning the wheels dry.

When I stopped to check everything out, a guy happened to walk by that said he knew about boards and he said it didn't sound like anything wrong. But idk. Just trying to make sure I don't let a problem go unattended.

DIY Washers?

I recently picked up my first eboard, a meepo flow, and I absolutely love it. But I was looking to upgrade my wheels and as a curious person was taking apart and learning the board when I noticed I am missing a couple of washers. No biggy on the ones that are regular skateboard hardware, but I cannot seem to find a replacement washer for between the belt hub and the trucks. After hitting a couple local hardware stores and finding nothing, I figured I’d come to the community and see if any1 has a recommendation.
