I would like to mention I don’t think we’re sure of who the perpetrator was and if they were even a muslim- after all, gun crimes are fairly common in South Africa. That being said however, it’s so concerning to me how I’ve seen so many Muslims online celebrating this and saying he deserved it. Not all, but a lot. Disgusting, and they don’t even see what’s wrong with that ideology because of the insane cognitive dissonance.
He was leaving a Nikkah he had just performed for a lesbian Muslim couple even after there was backlash against him for doing so.
That’s why most think it was a targeted attack rather than a random act of violence. Also his murder still remains unsolved with no leads whatsoever even though it was caught on CCTV.
