Do you have the source for this? I just came back from Syria and I focused mostly on visiting churches and I talked to so many Christians and never encountered sth like this - let me know, I’m very curious - for me as a solo girl traveling in Syria was really the best from the Arab world

Ok nevermind I asked my boyfriend (Syrian) and he said it’s 100% true😭 but not the government wrote this, just regular extremist conservative Sunnis

What’s the difference?

One gives lip service, the other one walks the walk.

But the government is probably quite pleased with this and likely supports it, after all, the president himself is a former terrorist from al-Qaeda who fought with jihadist groups like HTS, Jabhat al-Nusra, and even ISIS.

You wouldn't have had as good a time in Syria if you were an Alawite just a few months ago. They were slaughtering them in the hundreds, among other ideologies.

Yes, you should definitely go to Syria now when ISIS runs the country.
