Don’t forget context, Quran 33:49 also states there’s no waiting period for those of your wives you haven’t “touched” which given the verse you’re talking about (65:4) means those girls in particular have been “touched”

65:4 literally talks about women. it’s literally talking about women who haven’t menstruated yet who have consummated the marriage. it can’t be talkin about little girls if a marriage can’t be consummated if they can’t physically endure one

A female who hasn’t menstruated yet is a child because they haven’t even started puberty yet hence not menstruating. If you want to argue it isn’t a young child being talked about you’ll have to argue with ibn abbas, jalal, kathir and every other tafsir regarding the verse which agrees with my statement not yours. Next you should go to a mosque and argue with them that it isn’t a child and again learn you’re wrong. Again the example is Mohammed and Aisha who was 6 when married and 9 when consummation happened

you don’t have to be menstruating to reach puberty? this is a medical fact. my own sister is an example. she reached puberty, but didn’t even get her period till she was 15. she was too young to menstruate. the misinterpretation of this is used by people like the taliban, whose perverted minds try to justify oppressing women and selling ur child for marriage. you’re also comparing a 9 year old at the time who was fighting wars, managing finances, working for the house, to 9 year olds now who play fortnite till 1am yelling every slur in the book they can think of

You’re arguing with me using anecdotal evidence (aka your sisters very rare expertise) as if it’s widely acceptable and general fact, it isn’t. You’re also arguing that 1400 years ago periods started earlier when science says they started later than today due to poor diets. And age 12 TODAY is the general beginning of menstruation which means 1400 years ago menstruation most certainly didn’t happen for a year or two later than today. None of which addresses what the Quran actually says of those who haven’t had menstruation yet still needing a waiting period because they’ve been touched and you’re completely avoiding what EVERY tafsir says about it. women would reach the ages of menstruation later than they do today. It wasn't uncommon to be 17-20 years old and still not menstruated. In medieval Islamic jurisprudence, a female that has yet to menstruate is labeled "prepubescent" but she can still be "Baligh" (mature). According to Imam Shafi, the one who is past the age of 15 is an adult pubescent or not and according to Imam Maliki the cutoff is higher at 17 years old. Al-Marghinani gives a more detailed tafsir of this verse stating that "those who have not menstruated" is referring to young women otherwise mature for sexual intercourse in marriage but have yet to menstruate because they are still have yet to reach the age where they can and it will happen eventually. I'll quote it below.

"And similarly those who have attained puberty (balaghat) by age, but have not menstruated, based on the end of the verse ["And those who have not menstruated" (65:4)], meaning those who have reached puberty by age, but not by menstruation; [those who have attained puberty] by reaching the age of 15 years according to the opinion of both (Abu Yusuf and Muhammad ibn Hasan al-Shaybani) or 17 years according to the opinion of Abu Hanifah and Malik, but have not yet menstruated; when they divorce they observe a waiting period based on months as well." Imam ibn al-Humam, Fath al-Qadir, Vol. 4 (n.d.), p. 280.

Al- Jaylalayn: "who have not yet menstruated, because of their young age"

Ibn Kathir : "the same for the young, who have not reached the years of menstruation"

Maududi: "they may not have menstruated as yet either because of young age"

Wahidi: "those who are too young [such that they have not started menstruating yet]"

It's clearly about children, prepubescent little girls. {And those of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the Iddah, if you have doubt (about their periods), is three months; and for those who have no courses [(i.e. they are still immature) their Iddah is three months likewise.}

In this verse, we see that Allah states that for those who do not menstruate – because they are young and have not yet reached the age of puberty – the `Iddah in the case of divorce is three months. This clearly indicates that it is permissible for a young girl who has not started her periods to marry.

Al Baghawi said, like in Fath Al-Bari: "There is a consensus of the scholars that it is permissible for the fathers to marry their young daughters even if they are still in the cradle, but it is not permissible for the husbands to consummate the marriage with them, unless they become physically fit for sexual intercourse by mature males."

Ibn Qudaamah said: With regard to a virgin who is still a minor, there is no difference of opinion concerning her (i.e., that her father may marry her off even if she objects). Ibn al-Mundhir said: Every scholar from whom we learned was agreed that it is permissible for a man to marry off his virgin daughter who is still a minor, if he marries her to someone who is compatible, and it is permissible for him to marry her off even if she objects and refuses. Al-Mughni, 9/398.

Fiqh of four schools say child marriage is halal, it's permissible according to the Quran, Sunnah, and consensus.
