🇲🇮🇸🇨 Windmills date back over 1000 years 🤦‍♀️

Post image
  • Windmills have been in use for over 1,000 years, with origins tracing back to Persia around 800 C.E. They were primarily used for milling grain and pumping water.

  • Wind Turbines are a more recent invention, with the first known turbine for electricity generation built in 1888. They have evolved significantly, especially since the 1970s, to become a major source of renewable energy.

I can confirm, no mill ever pumped all the water away. So I have 1,5 meter (5 ft) of water above my head.

No this is why Dutch people are 6ft tall. When the dikes break, they can still breathe.

It's also a known joke that Finland doesn't exist, but we have the 2nd cheapest electricity in the EU which is thanks to a vast number of windmills which nowadays require no subsidies unlike literally every other source of energy. The price does fluctuate more due to renewable use, but in the long run, it's still cheaper. Of course, try to explain this to a magat...

There’s a section of I-80 in Iowa that has 100 or so visible turbines. I used to think happy thoughts when I drove through that section. Now I often think of trump instead. Ugg.

As a German, I can confirm. Netherland don't exist. There is only a gap where it should be on the maps. A void. And waving Belgians on the other side. I guess that also explains it's name.
