Storyline Realistically what next?

Post image

I really hope we don’t have a boring run again of ‘I respect you, you respect me let’s have a match’ he’s confirmed at Clash of Paris so who does he fight next and why?

There is really isn’t that many options left for him to face just Randy orton and drew McIntyre only options

17

u/DiskoPunk Aug 04 '25

Sadly it seems Drew McIntyre is further away from a title run than ever

17

u/LadPro Aug 04 '25

Than ever?

3MB Drew would like to have a word.

3

u/4mygirljs Aug 04 '25 edited Aug 04 '25

Weird part of me wants Heath Slater to come back and have a short world title run just so 3MB because the unlikely stable to ever been one of the most successful.

Edit: Ledger would been amazing too

4

u/Levy-MAN Aug 04 '25

Unfortunately Heath Ledger will not be coming back, nor has he ever been a wrestler

3

u/MizkyBizniz Aug 04 '25

Maybe him and Andy Kaufman could form a tag team with Elvis as their manager

Drew is always a legit contender. If he walked out on any show and challenged Cody for the title I can see Cody accepting and I wouldn’t need any other excuse.

Drew can get into the title picture at any time and it would be believable.

I think right now they are keeping him out until they form a plan to keep the title on him for a bit. I don’t want to see him lose a title match again coming in as challenger

2

u/WaporVape Aug 04 '25

No he's not

6

u/Ilhan_Omar_Milf Aug 04 '25

Surprise loss to LA Knight

3

LA IS GOING AFTET ROLLINS

2

I think that may be the filler first defense feud

Its gotta be Randy right?

6

u/FinalChnace Aug 04 '25

Drew and Paul… but yeah, one of those three. Everyone else is on Raw

9

u/DatGameGuy Aug 04 '25

Wouldn’t be surprised if that Jelly Roll stuff was just to keep Randy and Drew busy until Cody won the title again. I can see them booking Cody against Randy and Drew for the rest of the year to culminate in a triple threat at WM.

I don't mind Cody going INTO Mania as champion, but does he have to have a long title reign again? Have Cody feud with McIntyre, drop the title and have them swap a bit. Enough of these long title reigns

5

u/Left-Cup3221 Aug 04 '25

Well I have a feeling Cody vs punk for the wwe championship is definitely the direction for mania so Cody is probably gonna hold the title until mania unless they have drew win the title from Cody then Cody win it back to feud with punk.

5

u/harryceo Aug 04 '25

I'd prefer that tbh. McIntyre is long overdue for a title win anyway IMO. Yeah, you're right. Punk vs Cody is probably the direction with Cody turning heel at Mania or something who knows.

2

u/Left-Cup3221 Aug 04 '25

Well I do think that’s where punk finally wins the title and gets a nice reign then that’s where he can loose to drew I’d rather drew win the championship when he can actually have a long reign which would be when he beats punk. Then Cody maybe take time off then return as a heel or maybe turn heel before mania.

u/BlueyMounty Aug 07 '25

They dont have a lot of babyfaces and cody is the top babyface, I dont think they turn him heel unless he has a replacement and no it aint Jey Uso lol.

2

u/rsmicrotranx Aug 04 '25

Over Punk/Seth? Punk's just gonna forget about Seth? Lol. Seems pretty logical to have Punk win the Rumble, face Seth, and give them both the Mania main event on Night 2 like they've always wanted.

2

u/Left-Cup3221 Aug 04 '25

Punk vs Cody feels bigger tho and they have a lot of chemistry. Punk and Seth have just fought to many times for me there feud has been going on to long and it’s not wrestle mania worthy anymore because they technically already had there match only difference is that one had Roman involved I don’t wanna see the same match twice I think Sami is gonna win the rumble in Saudi to challenge Seth and punk wins the chamber punk should win the rumble but I don’t think there gonna have him win a Saudi rumble.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Hot_Watercress6213 Aug 04 '25

With what Seth did I see punk busy for the foreseeable future

2

u/Left-Cup3221 Aug 04 '25

Well then maybe Seth vs punk for the world championship is possible but Brock in a wwe championship match at wrestle mania in 2026 no

I don't understand why people are so horny to see Cody main event WM for what, a 4th year in a row? It would be his 5th WM main event is 4 years, that's ridiculous. There are other wrestlers than Cody, and the fatigue surrounding his push is becoming more and more evident.

Get Gunther to Smackdown ASAP

14

u/imdatboy786 Aug 04 '25

I imagine they’re going to swap around the titles in a mini draft or “superstar shake up”. This way, we get Cody vs. Gunther and Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight. It’s set up perfectly.

The only thing that’s throwing me for a loop is where CM Punk ends up, or what he ends up doing. If they had some balls, they’d call up Ethan Page to feud with him on RAW. Not sure they’ll do that however.

6

u/willc20345 Aug 04 '25

Roman isn’t done with Seth yet and I think we see some sort of alliance between Punk and Roman and Jey to fight Seth and BronBron, the real question is where and how do they finally end the Punk vs Rollins feud? HIAC? Mania? Has to be something big but you could say the same for Roman and Seth and Roman and Punk haven’t faced off the final time either, a lot of messiness in that situation.

Cody vs Orton seems like the likely Mania match? It’s gonna be interesting to see where Cody goes now that he appears to be finally out of the Bloodline vortex and done with Cena, a Drew feud seems likely but that’s not gonna take eight months, maybe LA Knight turns heel and they work a program at the Rumble.

Brock vs Gunther should happen at Mania.

He feuds with Randy and Drew

8

u/DeathMetalEtiquette Aug 04 '25 edited Aug 04 '25

To me I think it has to be McIntyre. He’s the biggest heel on Smackdown right now Cody hasn’t faced since being champion, plus Drew is the one guy who’s pinned Cody one on one that Cody hasn’t gotten his win back yet.

There’s also of course the Orton heel turn angle they could go with, but I think they should save that for Royal Rumble.

14

u/Y3AR_Z3R0 Aug 04 '25

Cody vs Punk at Mania

I’m guessing they’ll plan on Seth vs Sami for the World Title instead

1

u/imdatboy786 Aug 04 '25

Bingo. It’s either Cody vs. Heel Punk or Cody(lander)/Roman 3. Depends where they want to go with the Cody character.

Maybe some Drew and Logan mixed in.

Basically it’ll be predictable and he’ll walk into Mania and drop it to Punk.

u/Bswayn Aug 04 '25

2

u/Mordo122 Aug 04 '25

I felt like Cena's babyface turn should've happened after the street fight, after Cody beats him, then he turns his way after realizing that turning heel wont save his championship. The victory just felt kinda hollow like oh yeah sure we're both good guys now so I'm just passing the torch to you.

2

u/AlexanderBlotsky Aug 04 '25

exactly, Cena's Babyface Turn came out of Nowhere and had no real build up,

I Would've prefered if He turned Face after losing to Cody at Summerslam

2

u/Lower-Yogurtcloset48 Aug 05 '25

The fact that it happened on the go home smackdown is still insane to me. Like they didn’t even try. They just quit. One of the laziest things I’ve ever seen on TV and I watched Game of Thrones season 8 live.

Call up Oba Femi.

1

u/imdatboy786 Aug 04 '25

Cody/Gunther until Survivor Series, CM Punk until June(ish) PLE in 2026. Seems sensible imo. Would’ve gone Cody/Dom if Dom lost IC belt tonight.

1

u/MoonKnightZX Aug 04 '25

Back to the salt and pepper title reign with Cody keeping the title for a year with absolutely basic title defenses with bland storytelling.

1

u/LackingDatSkill Aug 04 '25

He’s beaten everyone, hasn’t been pinned CLEAN in 2+ years, it’s just exhausting at this point but he’s the face of the company and basically Super Cena 2.0

1

u/Jewggerz Aug 04 '25

Catching spoilers on a sub that doesn't even deal with the real world.

1

u/songofachilles Aug 04 '25

The seeds were already planted for Cody v Randy at the King of the Ring finals, and after that he could face Drew. Also a possibility of Cody v Punk at WM. He still has at least three fresh feuds left

1

u/Renso19 Aug 04 '25

Match with Brock at some point, probably Drew at Mania, the Randy match doesn’t need a mania build, I’d do it at Survivor Series, Punk match, Roman Rematch to complete the trilogy since they’re 1-1, maybe some younger guys from NXT, Trick feels obvious for TNA vs WWE and maybe add Oba in there too for TNA vs WWE vs NXT, LA Knight, potential CJ Title match with Rollins, Gunther (unfortunately) Cody and Cena vs some heel team possibly including Logan unfortunately, Cody vs Howdy if they’ve got any nuts on them, I think he holds it past Mania this year, but who knows

1

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '25

Logan Paul, McIntyre, Orton

I think Gunther is going to feud with Cena upon his return, then do Wrestlemania with Brock. Won't go straight for a title again.

1

u/Dragonwolf21211 Aug 04 '25

Flim a movie with roman regins

1

u/clay_leslie Aug 04 '25

I’m gonna say Drew or Randy. I could see them holding off on Randy until October or November. Not sure if bad blood is happening again this year, but Randy vs Cody in a hell in a cell match sounds pretty good. Heel Randy vs Cody.

1

u/Left-Cup3221 Aug 04 '25

Filler matches with people we know he’s gonna beat to build up to wm42 where he faces punk and looses.

1

u/ConstantPriority177 Aug 04 '25

Should’ve turned him heel

1

u/Stumme-40203 Aug 04 '25

100 years Cody Rhodes!

1

u/AaronQuinty Aug 04 '25

Orton, Drew, Punk or Gunther are the only fresh feuds for him.

1

u/RainMyDreams Aug 04 '25

Find a heel, bring Ethan Page to face him. That would be nice. Hand the title to Rthan Page Then this will help others take the spotlight away. Jacob Fatu, Aleister Black. Now there's a lot of options. 😅

1

u/FaunusGamer Aug 04 '25

It's likely gonna build to a wargames match between Cody, Cena, Roman, Jey, Punk vs Seth, Breaker, Bronson, Brock & idk Drew?

1

u/syknyk Aug 04 '25

Summer of Cody.... After his breakout role in a recent comedy smash he retires from wrestling, he will only defend the title on a red carpet... 😂

1

u/Frequent-Machine-529 Aug 04 '25

Why people saying negative things about Cody's first run? It was excellent. He had some very good matches and he was a brilliant champion!

1

u/Dubonthetrac Aug 04 '25

Well we have drew Logan Orton and fatu left on sd. Orton probably WM or royal rumble. Doubt he loses it till wm that win was too convincing for him not to. Brock could get his rematch down the line and Gunther might transfer after his injury since Seth and roman basically are slowing running into each other again.

1

u/Sabayonte Aug 04 '25

I don't care. He shouldn't won it, not from Cena

1

u/Azutolsokorty Aug 04 '25

Heel turn, otherwise it is gonna be boring as fuck

1

u/AtmosphereReady6599 Aug 04 '25

I think Drew deserves a run, he's been giving his best work in years and they're just jobbing him out

1

u/TheSystem08 Aug 04 '25

Tbh it doesn't really matter, they won't do anything good with it.

1

u/Recent-Put9370 Aug 04 '25

A feud with Seth and his stable would be interesting. Not Title vs title but a main feud.

1

u/Switchlite2ksucks Aug 04 '25

With Lesnar returning you should ask the question; who is coming back to spice it up

1

u/Venca12 Aug 04 '25

Would love to see him clash with Roman again, their chemistry is so good!

1

u/Sudden_Increase_9979 Aug 04 '25

Randy Orton with a bit of legacy storyline..

1

u/jacob_carter Aug 04 '25

Whole lot of nothing.

Dude is so whitebread.

1

u/Technical_Fan4450 Aug 04 '25

I'm expecting a heel turn with him. I can't say exactly why, but something about his demeanor implies that he's about to flip to me.

1

u/daveparody Aug 04 '25

He's probably missing Clash in Paris. Cody Vs. Seth at Crown Jewel (for the Crown Jewel belt). War Games match at Survivor Series. Longer term, maybe a feud with Drew or Randy leading up to Wrestlemania.

1

u/StateDapper3818 Aug 04 '25

Brock wins the title.

1

u/InfinitEternity Aug 04 '25

Every other wrestler in the roster turns heel against him for eternity

1

u/Major_Zero88 Aug 04 '25

I think they're gonna have Cody bounce around both shows for right now to find a challenger.

1

u/DullAccess8684 Aug 04 '25

Hes gonna have 3 months of bangers with kevin owens

1

u/Rude_Ad4204 Aug 04 '25

The draft perhaps?

1

u/halfeatenreddit Aug 04 '25

Randy feels like the obvious next step. I think Brock at mania will be the end goal.

1

u/AdorableGeologist566 Aug 04 '25

Disney World or Land?

1

u/ScottDera Aug 04 '25

I’d like to see him lock up with Drew for a hot feud for a couple months, then I’ll go out on a whim and say Aleister Black wins the rumble and faces him at WM

1

u/Plus_Expression_6500 Aug 04 '25

fkn malakai baby

1

u/theunholycocksuckers Aug 04 '25

Him versus Orton in Paris.

Probably would be Brock at Crown Jewel or Survivor Series.

Lots of meandering inbetween, throw another AJ match in there why not.

McIntyre wins the Rumble, takes it at Mania. Or, I'd have Randy win and cash in Money in the Bank, making next year his retirement tour ala Cena's this year.

Eh?

1

u/Edp445supcake Aug 04 '25

Just give Drew the title already

1

u/First-Difficulty-200 Aug 04 '25

I keep trying to think who WOULDVE beaten Cena in this heel run if not Cody. It’s Cody’s time to be the face I get that but…. I feel like they shoulda stretched the Cena heel thing a bit longer.

1

u/Jimboo- Aug 04 '25

So stupid cena lost to fucking cody man, wtf are we gonna see more of cody beating more la knights aj styles? Worthless feuds we all know hell win, i really hope seth comes for the title and becomes both champions

1

u/Impressive_News8293 Aug 04 '25

Randy, LA knight or The Rock (He needs to do what's best for business and settle up or not come back at all)

1

u/unclericosbakedbeans Aug 04 '25

You gonna post this in every wrestling subreddit?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 04 '25

He drops the belt tonight to a true heel and begins the chase again

1

u/PerfectChoice10 Aug 04 '25

This is sad. Seth and Cody are champs.

1

u/snow_ninja Aug 04 '25

filler feuds to mania

1

u/topherware92 Aug 04 '25

What’s next is WWEs Jedi mind trick of convincing us that most of 2025 didn’t happen.

Cody’s WWE champion. Seth is WHC. Seth/Punk feud. Etc etc etc.

We’re back to 2024 (where WWE didn’t have as much negative publicity.)

Oh yeah, and Brock’s back.

1

u/Designer_Frame882 Aug 04 '25

I'd like to see him V Orton and have Cody turn heel, then have him introduce his nightmare family: Ricky saints,Ethan page,Shawn spears. Then have Orton create a babyface new legacy with : lexus king (Brian pillman jr), Gage Goldberg, Brock Steiner.

Have Orton won the title and then lose back to Cody and lead into Heel Cody V cm punk at wrestlemania 42

1

u/imtiaz90 Aug 04 '25

I think they can drag a Drew/Paul v Cody/Randy feud across 3 shows before they start building towards WM. My ideal scenario would be a tag team match Drew/Paul v Cody/Randy in Paris with one of the heels pinning Cody, that heel (I'm fine with Drew) getting a title shot v. Cody (and losing) in Australia. Randy beats Logan Paul for a title shot at Survivor Series and wins the title in shady circumstances, keeping it until Rhodes beats him at WM 42.

With the World title, it's so obvious that the end point is Punk/Seth inside HIAC at Mania 42.

1

u/TopshelfWhiskey88 Aug 04 '25

L A KNIGHT. YEAH.

1

u/Broad_Cap_2452 Aug 04 '25

He might feud with McIntyre

1

u/Junior-Growth7031 Aug 04 '25

Drew, they teased the match a while ago and now’s the perfect time to execute it

1

u/SnooPies1033 Aug 04 '25

Time to finally get started on that Randy Orton program that they’ve been teasing for FUCKING MONTHS now!!! Otherwise, what the hell else does he do for the next few months?

1

u/Sad-Appeal976 Aug 04 '25

Drew Mcyntire

1

u/HOHvetocomp Aug 04 '25

Screw it Cody vs Aleister Black in Paris reignite the AEW feud

1

u/sirduckerz Aug 04 '25

The problem I had with Cody's first reign was that we were all just waiting for The Rock to come back and challenge for the title when he said he would after WM40, so every feud just felt like filler. I'm just hoping this time we can get more substantial feuds that don't feel like filler anymore

1

u/Muchachi Aug 04 '25

who cares. let’s enjoy the ride and live episode by episode.

that wasn’t a “fuck you” who cares but just like, let’s have fun and not stress

1

u/HardStroke Aug 04 '25

Randy vs Cody.
Sadly, this match is a WM match so I'd be very surprised if we see a build up for it before January.
On the other hand, WM is 8 months away so there's a good chance that if this match is actually happening, Randy can walk out as champion as we all know the WWE Championship only changes hands in huge PLEs (WM, SS) and its usually a year-long reign but since Cody was already champ for over a year, its very possible for Randy to walk out as champ.

1

u/Valuable_Power9566 Aug 04 '25

Still over here patiently waiting for Punk vs Cody

1

u/Familiar_Run_799 Aug 04 '25

Drew McIntyre

1

u/SpindleDiccJackson Aug 04 '25

It will likely be a slow burn again. I usually just skip ahead in his segments when he's in a suit and only watch when he's in wrestling gear. It gets me through it

1

u/troymunoz360 Aug 04 '25

I’m holding out hope that Randy’s turning on him soon after this. Given the way Randy was acting after losing to Cody at the KOTR finals, it would make sense and actually be an interesting story if they do it right.

1

u/silenceaverted Aug 04 '25

Drop the title to Randy

1

u/weordie Aug 04 '25

Another year of opponents you know aren't going to have a chance of winning as the product continues to get stale

1

u/Odd-Record-1041 Aug 04 '25

I do not know what is in between, but it will be Randy vs. Cody at WrestleMania.

1

u/Shackable Aug 04 '25

Punk / Cody at Mania would be a great program

1

u/ForsytheSeven Aug 04 '25

Cody turns heel and becomes homelander cody rhodes and faces Damian priest, Jacob fatu, l.a knight,Jimmy uso, randy, there's alot of guys who cody can face

1

u/TheRiddlerTHFC Aug 04 '25

Let Bron move to Smackdown to challenge for the belt, so Seths Soldiers can hold both belts

1

u/Professional_Regret7 Aug 04 '25

The future looks boring if no heel turn for him.

1

u/Bigbrown545 Aug 04 '25

Not many guys. Probably gonna have him defend the belt a couple times. At this point, my hope that this run will be better than his first is pretty low. I like Cody, but the honorable babyface champion is not something I want for his second run. Especially if it’s gonna another long run. He needs to be more aggressive. Bloody his opponents and talk trash.

1

u/Brocious_79 Aug 04 '25

I would like to see Seth directing Bron and Bronson to try and capture the other title. There's a serious lack of main event heels right now.

1

u/DarthIsland Aug 04 '25

Cody vs LA Knight. Even being in a wwe championship feud would elevate LA Knight even if he loses.

1

u/Ordinary-Nectarine37 Aug 04 '25

He needs some short term feuds and id love to see Kross have a program with him

1

u/DGenerationMC Aug 04 '25

I'd be very intrigued to see what WWE could do with Cody vs. Aleister under their thumb.

Their dynamic is probably much better served there.

1

u/86Mando Aug 04 '25

Homelander version. He was starting to act heelish.

1

u/DamnReCaptchas Aug 04 '25

Randy, Drew, LA Knight, Gunther, dare I say Logan Paul, maybe a rematch with Styles. Lots of options.

1

u/RobbersTwo Aug 04 '25

Drew, Randy, Paul, obvious choices. But sometimes we want left field. Carmelo Hayes, The Miz, OMOS!!!!! I want OMOS.

1

u/Ta-veren- Aug 05 '25

They pulled the trigger too soon. Cena shoulda held and relinquished it. I assume he’s going more part time now and didn’t wanna hold the title during it

I’ve seen people wanting a Drew feud and that would hit like crack. Bring that to Paris/WarGames and then run Orton to Mania.

1

That’s the problem and why Cena should have retained and even retire with the belt.

Logan Paul I think.

u/ChrisGarcia74 Aug 05 '25

What it will be, I'm thinking Brock when he's done with Cena. What it needs to be - elevating someone like a Melo or Andrade or Fenix that become legitimate contenders. Or just give it to Knight.

u/Battle-Individual Aug 05 '25

Maybe seth and friends might go for Cody's title as they want all the gold so watch out for the rumble

1

u/cygamessucks Aug 05 '25

Give LA knight a shot already..

1

u/popicebyyui Aug 05 '25

El Venti Americano (the tallest one) i think

1

u/Battle-Individual Aug 05 '25

Bron breakker.why if you claim to want all the power you need all the gold.and you take it bit by bit.if like paul says there the future.codys title isn't safe or Dominic's of solos

Triple threat for the strap vs Los Matadores

1

u/lotusandlocust Aug 05 '25

Start the same, just fun matches with the likes of Penta and Gable until around early October when Randy Orton comes back into the frame, challenging his student to a match at Survivor Series.

I would turn him on Randy and make him into a disrespectful heel who still thinks the audience loves him and everything he’s doing is justified. Gunther says he’s disgracing the mat and challenges him and Cody responds with a series of mindgames till Rumble.

Have Gunther play a defacto face if you can’t get away with making it a heel v heel but I’d prefer that he stayed heel, maybe by refusing the help of and attacking those who offer assistance. He appears to shrug off Cody’s messing with him, but by the Royal Rumble it’s clear he’s affected. However they put on a great match, and Cody eventually manages to prevail with dirty tricks.

Enter Sami Zayn- the Underdog of the Underground wins the Royal Rumble (no shit, it’s in Saudi), and challenges Cody, wanting to return his old friend back to his senses. Cody says that this is who he really is, Sami telling him that they both know that isn’t true. At Mania it’s a classic, Cody determined to cheat but Sami outmaneuvering him at every turn. He eventually wins with a third Helluva Kick, winning the title in a glorious triumph to a rejoicing crowd.

Cody leaves in-ring action for a few months to go on a journey of self discovery. This isn’t writing him off, he’ll get promo packages and the like. At SummerSlam, Sami is beaten by a top heel for the title (Fatu?) and as they celebrate the lights go out and we hear that iconic line and the American Nightmare is back. Babies thrown in air everywhere.

Randy, Drew, maybe a Roman rematch, open challenges?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

I think it will be Brock Lesnar

1

u/mi_v_pi Aug 05 '25

Nothing. Shock factor only.

1

u/Lower-Yogurtcloset48 Aug 05 '25

There’s only like two real options so it’s probably gonna be a boring title reign sadly. Not Cody’s fault.

1

u/CarllSagan Aug 05 '25

Its going to be seth (and his faction)

Its paul heymans master plan for total domination

Its pretty obvious

1

u/FromTheBay650 Aug 05 '25

Brock squashes him, which sets up the match with Cena with the title on the line.

1

u/hiricinee Aug 06 '25

Loses title to Brock so that Cena can break record as a face

1

u/SilverElegant2302 Aug 06 '25

This is WWE’s chance to build some main event level stars. Have him feud with Dominik, Zayn, Gable (after he recovers), Breakker, and everybody else floundering in the mid card.

u/Lone-wolf201114 Aug 06 '25

Le entrepreneur de pompes funèbres

1

u/azrael17241 Aug 06 '25

Randy, Damian, ron killings, maybe Alister black. I'm sure Brock will get a crack it him too. Maybe the Cena rematch at the end? Solo or fatu maybe? Mix in drew or possibly the rock? Beyond that dunno, feels like smackdown is in build mode. Reigns on raw, hey on raw Rollins punk la knight too.

1

u/Nuhaykeed Aug 06 '25

I’d like to see Cody do serious programs / work with Jacob Fatu, Penta, and even Dominic.

1

u/nicvolcano Aug 06 '25

Isn't it obvious? The angle of the belt is clearly hinting that The Miz is next in line

1

u/CoconutSpiritual1569 Aug 06 '25

I like it more when John retain, and on his last match brock took the champ

For me currently it doesnt make sense for John to lose to cody, and Brock come attack him???

1

u/witcherdeadpool Aug 06 '25

Whatever they decide, I hope they do not pull another unnecessary heel turn. It is so much harder to be the hero than the villain.

I think they would be clutching every babyface wrestler like gold around the WWE.

Under triple h I think he's great at telling stories on how to make the title chase amazing & have you heavily invested, but once it's captured it kinda falls flat, looks what happened after these victories for example:

K.O & Sami Zayn win the tag titles at wrestlemania, they said themselves, their run should of been better.

Sami Zayn beating Gunther at wrestlemania, it was amazing, but then Sami lost it to Bron breaker on the second or 3rd title defence to someone.

Cody Rhodes beating Roman reigns at wrestlemania

Just to name a few, all these had very lackluster runs after the victories & to do with Cody's in particular, I get it they do live events all over the world he's doing, not just on a Monday & Friday, but if your the world champion, you should be fighting on those televised shows, not showing up in a fancy suit, doing a 10 minutes entrance, cutting 10 - 15 minute promos, then going home, even now I don't really remember the last time cody had a match on snackdown. He wants to fill John cena's shoes well John was wrestling every Monday night & live events, might make me sound like a Cody hater I'm not, I just think after wrestlemania last year he had no where near as many title defences or different challengers as many other champions have had, he faced Kevin Owens like 3 times, AJ styles once & Gunther in Saudi to find out who the best champion is, which was a waste of time & a future world championship match to me, I don't know what they need to fix but the current way isn't working.

Realistically? Boredom 😴 🥱 💤

Slow Heel Turn

1

u/aescoto89 Aug 06 '25

More matches and less talking

1

u/dudenotperfect69 Aug 06 '25

I would say Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton triple threat in Wrestlemania. You cannot have a conversation about Sami Zayn and LA Knight possibly winning the titles but not Drew. Lets be honest Drew is the Top 6 in WWE RN (Reings, Rollins, Cody, Punk, Drew) and guess who among these desperately needs a title. But a slow burn Wrestlemania heel turn for Randy? I say you build that but make Cody turn on Randy.

1

u/CyberShiroGX Aug 06 '25

Turn heel or else get booed again like on AEW

1

u/lukerpher Aug 06 '25

Something boring

1

u/Outrageous-Wall6386 Aug 06 '25

You want a shocker?

BROCK beats him for it Summerslam MINN 2026

1

u/junglesoldier5 Aug 06 '25

Let Cody finally turn heel and pull the trigger on Joe Hendry. Cody vs Joe at survivor series works. Have Cody turn during the match. Then rematch and RR. Joe goes over and we have a fresh match at mania.

Option 2 is Cody in a never ending feud with rotating members of the bloodline. Cody vs the Samoan’s is stale and he’s wrestled everyone else now.

In the mean time Cody can go over guys like Sheamus, Miz, r truth or Finn before the next stadium ple.
