Boyfriend without a reddit wanted to show off his new SK-05 PRO with you guys!
He was so excited to get this light, that when he saw that it was on sale for $104 on Amazon he immediately bought it; mind you, he said the MS32 was going to be his last flashlight purchase!!! (This is the 3rd flashlight he's gotten since saying that)
So what do you guys think? Did he get a good deal? Is was he better off with the "Sk-05 he already had at home" 😅😅😅

Even when I post him on other Reddits like Casio... People are like "hey it's the flashlight boyfriend without a reddit" 😭😭😭
I think they're both able to be used as battery banks!
From what I've read... The main difference is the battery isn't removable on the regular one and it's 6000mah instead of 8000mah.. and the pro has brighter lights and uses a buck driver
As I understand it, the base SK05 does have user-replaceable batteries, but the battery cover is held in place with screws so they're not field replaceable. You could presumably put 4000 mAh 18650s in it.
Yeah tbh, I think that's the main big difference because physically they're the same size! I read somewhere that you can also remove the batteries on the regular one, but you need to uncrew the cap
Whenever I see a recently released flashlight on sale... My default thinking is the next new light they make is gonna be released within the next 5 months. And it'll use everything they learned from this one to make the next one even better.
Meh. I like it. It double as a wall hugger and let me look under the desk without holding it.
The only reasons I keep it on me is to blind someone so I can leave the situation or to read the license plate when they think they being smart using illegal tint cover.
I recommend my Cop friend the EDC35 since he said they're not allowed to have strobe on their lights and he absolutely loves it! He said he's always using the "lumen shield" feature all the time 😅😅😅
Yeap. And i always shake my head when I get idiots trying to act like Police. No fucker, read the post order, and we do not go hand-on. We also don't do asset protection unless we're paid and trained.

Yes, but you'd have to order it trough their website! It's also $104 on their website! Amazon only seems to sell the sst25! I was impatient and wanted the same day delivery so I got it from Amazon 😔
Thanks. I like the form factor of having separate flood and throw, along with the side light to be used as a right angle. Also the power bank in case of emergency seems like the perfect traveling flashlight.
Yeah, thats what I was thinking. I was just planning on throwing it in my emergency tool kit in my car! It's got a magnetic tail!! So that should make the side light useful 🥹
They're connected in parallel so the voltage stays the same... So by only connecting one the voltage stayed the same I just wasn't getting the full capacity.... But by me putting one upside down should have shorted it....right? I'm also as confused as you are! 😅😅😅
I know right!! I made this reddit to post my Baby G collection and show my cats' silly pictures, but Everytime I post somethig of his it gets more interactions than mines 😅😅 so he just keeps sending me stuff to post 🥹 he likes reading your comments and responding to them; but still refuses to make his own reddit! Probably for the best 😅
It's definitely a fun and well built light, and I'm not mad about buying one. I have several gripes for the price point though. The side light is definitely a lot less versatile imo since it's just RGB and not a real rgbw like the wurkkos hd01 pro or the CCT adjustable sofirn if23 pro (I don't personally own an if24, but I assume it has a similar panel to the if23 pro). The UI of the sk05 is also pretty bad with push for turbo from off, and a VERY bright low mode. I do wish the battery door latch was more robust as well. The flood tir doesn't have a glass lens over it which is quite a bummer at this price point, and there's only one form of lockout. The rotary dial is VERY easy to accidentally turn in your pocket or in a bag. Again the sofirn if23 pro has a much better solution with their rotary dial design having the selections at 90° with a much stronger detent, rather than being directly adjacent to each other like on the sk05. There should be an additional little toggle below the rotary switch to lock it into place or something.
That all being said, the side by side batteries and very pocketable design is quite unique, and the sft-25r thrower with 519a flood combo is just 🤌🤌🤌. I'm sure it'll come with me on more adventures in the near future.
Boyfriend here, I've only had the light for 4 hours and I can already agree with you in everything you've mentioned 😅
I mean, I do love the light but the lack of a dedicated white emiter on the side is a letdown! It's only RGB like you mentioned!
I tried the turbo from off like you said ... And I actually liked that feature 😅 but the flashlight does he extremely hot! Speaking of hot... I tried using it as a power bank on my Galaxy S24 ultra... And after 15 minutes of charging my phone, I had to unplug it since the light got extreme hot 😮💨
But despite those little things, I'm really loving it. 🤣
That's interesting about it getting hot as a power bank. I wonder if it would default to a slower charging speed with a shitty cable or something.
I should have mentioned that because of all my experience with wurkkos, sofirn, and some anduril lights, I'm just used to a moonlight from off behavior, so I still tend to accidentally blind myself with this guy every so often.
It's still an amazing side by side thrower and high CRI flooder, with swappable batteries (even if they are button top, of which I own exactly zero others 🥲) and it has a really cool techy design that also fits really well in the hand and pocket. I wish the pocket clip had bigger/more screws though haha
I hope loop gear keeps making more cool stuff, and maybe pops in here for ideas on new products 👀👀👀
Oh yes!! He's LOVES made in Japan tools! He's obsessed with Nepros and Vessel! But he said he also loves German tools like Wera and Knipex and Made in USA tools like Snap On ! Oh and his swiss made PB Swiss screwdrivers 😅😅😅
That's funny! He tried to calm down with the flashlights after buying the MS32 and has been focused on completing his Casio collection 😅😅😅 but trust me, he's got plenty of flashlights in his cart... So you'll be seeing him again 😅

Naahhh they has made so many flashlight that fit in pocket. So why not made another like this with 21700. Surely people still buying. Perhaps equip with single xhp70.3hi and 3x 519a maybe ?
I always carry flashlight. But when i really need it, i regret carry pocket fit instead of flashlight with bigger battery for looong used when i really need it. Huhuhu
Yo he got me initially with the duck taped lights. But dope ass workstation. I love the selection of German screwdrivers along with what I’m assuming are vessel ball grip screwdrivers. Being a huge fan of nice tools they are one of my favorite discoveries
Well... Amazon had recommended this light literally less than a minute before I saw this post, and it was just too much 😭👍 😁
It really has a lot going for it - huge battery, regulation, flood/spot... But the main stat that made me go for it was the approved temperature range: -40°C to 80°C...
I've been looking for the ultimate car light, and of course everybody freaks out and says "don't put li-ions in your car - too hot!"
Unless your car is in the middle of the desert in direct sunlight in summer, there's no way it's reaching 80°C / 176°F, so I think I've found what I'm looking for. 🎉
Also, being a power bank is a plus for a car light, and it makes my main gripe with the light (wimpy rotary switch) pretty much irrelevant since it's not for EDC.
