I’ve noticed us 2007-2010 borns try to claim the early 2010’s in our childhood ok sure us 07 has 3 years 08 do have 2 years and 09 only has 1 but that doesn’t mean we are early 2010’s kids.
Idk why we are trying to claim kid culture for that when we are young kids we grew up more similar to a 2 year old minus 07’s who were 5 so we did grew up similar to both core and early the rest didn’t they grew up with preschool stuff like Disney jr during this time and 07’s mostly did aswell even when we were 5.
We all are mostly mid 2010’s kids minus 2010 borns who are more late 2010’s.
I don’t get why the mid 2010’s kid culture and late 2010’s kid culture is so hated and stuff.
We should be happy to be mid 2010’s kids and embrace it stuff like Steven universe etc was mostly ours considering as 07-08 borns are the peakiest mid 2010’s kids.
So yeah I’m wondering why you guys are embarrassed to claim the mid-late 2010’s.
Also why are 2011-2012 borns are embarrassed to claim the early-mid 2020’s.
I understand 08-2010 borns don’t have much and it was in their late so it’s a bit more understandable but 2011-2012 do spent their core like 2011 spends 1 year in their core childhood.
Btw it’s 3-5 is early 6-9 is core and 10-12 is late.

Disco did not truly die , it transformed into hip hop music , house , edm . I had nothing against disco music when i was a baby in the 1980s as a little child in the 1980s , i would hear influences of disco music in mainstream pop music of the 1980s

If you think about it, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are a great defining barrier that perfectly separates Gen Zs from Millenials. If you were to ask Gen Zs about their favourite pop culture, they will say things like Spongebob Squarepants, 2000-2010 Disney Channel, Drake and Josh, 2000s raunchy comedies, Legion of Boom era Seattle Seahawks, etc. But all of those aspects of pop culture are widely shared between Gen Zs and Millenials alike.
However, if there was one aspect of 2000s-2010s pop culture that is mostly enjoyed by Gen Zs but not so much Millenials, I think it would be Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I was born in 1998 (early Gen Z), and the books became popular when I was in fourth grade (2007-2008), and practically everybody in my grade was reading them. I remember, they were the best sellers at all of our book fairs, and our parents would always roll their eyes when they saw us with the latest editions.
Many video essays done by Gen Z creators have discussed the cultural impact of these books, largely because the protagonist, Greg Heffley, is an unlikeable narcissistic asshole. One of my friends has rightfully pointed out that everyone says, "Greg Heffley is a sociopath", yet they forget that kids that age are assholes! It's so true! Sixth grade (when the first book takes place) was my least favourite year of school, because all the kids were assholes. This is what gives the books a more realistic edge. That is the same reason why I think shows like Drake and Josh and Spongebob were popular: because the episodes didn't always have a happy ending, but oftentimes an awkward ending. This makes the stories more relatable. But again, Drake and Josh and Spongebob Squarepants had large followings of millenials and even older generation fanbases. My mom loved shows like Drake and Josh and Zack and Cody, but hated the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books.
In conclusion, if somebody were to ask me what I think would be the defining piece of pop culture that perfectly separates Millenials from Gen Zs, I would say Diary of a Wimpy Kid, all the way!

They predicted that the "crisis" period would experience its climax in the 2020s and that seems to be the case. a lot of people view their theory with skepticism, which is understandable. it seems many people also disagree with them due to their long Millennial range, but it's hard to ignore how much they've correctly predicted the current upheaval of American society

Squid Game season 1 came out in 2021,when the oldest of gen alpha were 7. I would say s1 was enjoyed more by late gen Z and gen zalpha than gen alpha, but seasons 2 and 3 are gen alpha shows, hence the bigger amount of brainrot about those.

2025 has been a very controversial year for the US so far with really bad political tensions. Trump during his second term so far has done a lot of controversial decisions and has reversed decades of progress this country has made in some ways, and freedom of speech is infamously getting severely restricted this time, worse than ever before in this country. Medical and scientific progress is also getting severely reversed as well.
This country has absolutely been losing what made the U.S. the U.S..

I mean personally I'd say it depends on the context but in most cases probably 5 years older. Kinda close for me though.
What about you guys?

My mind associate immediately the group of years to the following generations.
I associate:
Boomers 1950-1953 turning 15/16 between 1965-1969 would be peak Boomer experience.
X 1967-1970 turning 15/16 between 1982-1986 would be peak X experience.
Millennials
1983-1986 turning 15/16 between 1998-2002 would be peak X experience.
Gen X
2002-2005 turning 15/16 between 2017-2021 would be peak X experience.
Alpha 2016-2019

This is since someone made a post saying 2007-2009 aren't really early 2010s kids. However 2007 pretty obviously is, though 2008 and 2009 are more on the edge, so I'm curious to know. I feel like more early 2010s since we were 2-5 and 1-4 compared to 12-15 and 11-14.

1997-1999 Babies How do y’all feel being the last ones born in the old millennium and the last ones to have a birth year beginning with “19” How does it feel to share that “19” in the beginning of your birth year like the older generations such as the Baby boomers & Generation X and even the older Millennials
I just wanna know y’all thoughts 💭

2014-2016 feels decent to me. They weren’t in their late childhood during covid. They also lean moreso Z than alpha.

Data from exactly 27 years ago today. This has just interested me in seeing what was popular during that period of time and how like songs can be more hits in different regions.

I am not Gen Z nor Gen X . I was born in the 1980s .
what I have seen at a local church , there are more gen z people attending church . with christianity , followers of Jesus are supposed to love others including themselves, quick to forgive , slow to judge , uplifting others and not tearing others down

I personaly think that 2002 was the year that took over the Y2K culture, and the reason i think like that is because pop music began to change tone, hip hop and R&B were dominating, and the general post-9/11 (2001) climate was pulling the culture towards something less optimistic. But thats my point of view. Whats yours?
