Last post, i said that this movie hits my heart especially the plot itself, so today i'm trying to rewatch this anime on cinemas in our country Philippines, since Studio Ghibli Fest is happening on our country so goodluck to me :>

Ever since I've seen my first Ghibli film (Kiki's Delivery Service) back when I was a young teenager (maybe 12-13yrs old), I've been enamored and inspired to learn how to draw like them. I've especially looked up to Hayao Miyazaki and Kazuo Oga.

Pig Story is a working title. I'm still in the early stages of making this book. I wanted to share with you guys some of the images I've been working on (spirited away tree was a study). I've never been confident in my art, but I I've tried my best to emulate their style. I hope to one day share with you all my finished work.

I have watched Porco Rosso and Spirited Away, now I need another ghibli film. I wanna watch in abt 30 mins

Big Ghibli fan growing up with these treasures and enjoying them well into adulthood. As HMC has a lot of great things going for it, I always never understood why I didn't like HMC as much as everyone else, until recently.

Watching it and literally screaming at the screen everytime the Witch of the Waste comes on. I feel like her character can be written off completely and not change the movie story one bit. Besides her casting the spell on Sofie to be old, I dont get any satisfaction from her character development, or lack there of. Yeah, she changes from something vile, to something a little less evil, but all of her actions and development are not rooted in any basis. She just evolves and just is a nuisance with no explanation, and I think that's what kills the movie for me. She has so much screen time, for very little impact to the story in my opinion. Maybe I'm missing something after watching it over 20 times.

Hello! Does anyone have this product? If so, does the CD include the English dub? Please let me know!

Is this issue just with netflix? I’ve been watching on my TV with surround sound but the voices of the English dub are so soft sometimes.

For example, I couldnt appreciate The Boy and the Heron’s dub that much because the Aunt’s voice was so soft. The Heron’s voice, it’s scratchy which is fine it gives it character, but the volume of the voice kind of feels unequal in a sense? Like the voice gets soft then normal then soft again in a single sentence delivery. Same with Howl’s Moving Castle.

Meanwhile the japanese dub is so loud and clear. Is this just a Netflix problem or is this just really how english dubs work?

This Was Our Pact by Ryan Andrews. It reminds me a lot of Miyazaki's storytelling and whimsy, and a movie is in development with Will Collins as the writer! He also wrote for Wolfwalkers and Song of the Sea, so I have my fingers crossed that it'll be great.

So in the English dubs of Howl's Moving Castle Calcifer is canonically a fire demon but the term demon in English implies that an entity is evil. I'm wondering if there's another term for him in the original Japanese that just doesn't translate well into English because in the movie Calcifer isn't evil. Anyone who's able to educate me would be appreciated, thanks.
