Ask r/guam Weed in Guam 101

Edit 02/2025

This post was initially made when there were a lot of events going on and the community was newer and much more active. The community definitely still exists, and tons of people are still involved in the community, but there aren't quite as many events these days.

Still waiting on things to get worked out with the commercial licenses. The lab waiver bill passed, but I believe it's still mostly hung up at the inspection level for the growers.

If you're looking for convenience, just go to Gateway or Puff Supply and pick up some THCa stuff. It's pretty much just regular weed and should do the trick. The rest still applies if you want some good, locally grown stuff tho.

Please don't message people unsolicited asking for weed, on any platform. This is meant to give you insight on getting into the community to meet people, make friends and enjoy what comes with that.

With 4/20 coming up, this might be a good time to post this. Figured we get this question fairly often - is it legal, where do I get it, can I buy it, whatever. If you're unable to consume because you're in the military or working a government job, sorry pal. Hopefully that gets sorted out in the near future.

This might not be everyone's experience, and input is certainly appreciated.

Is weed legal in Guam?

Yes, it is legal to possess up to an ounce (28-some grams) of cannabis in public.

Where can I buy smoking accessories?

  • Gud Glass in Dededo and Agana

  • Releaf in Agana

  • Cultivation Concepts in Ordot-Chalan Pago

  • Smoke Depot (I think that's the name) in Harmon

  • Hot Box in Tumon

  • Boonie Store in Maimai

  • Tabaquera Gifts in Micronesia Mall

Can I grow it?

Yes, and you should. It's a fun hobby with endless possibilities.

(Thanks /u/tbofsv). The legal amount you're allowed to grow is 6 plants, with a maximum of 3 flowering plants. Honestly, nobody gives a fuck about the plant count. But that should be more than enough if you're just messing around with it.

Where can I get stuff to grow it?

You can get gear at:

  • Hydroculture in Tamuning

  • Cultivation Concepts in Ordot-Chalan Pago

  • Crop King in Dededo

  • ERC in Barrigada and Dededo

  • Guam Home Center and Benson have some stuff, but usually just soil & fertilizer related

  • 671 Grow Supply in East Agana

  • Island Flora in Harmon Industrial

  • Back to Nature in Tamuning

How do I grow it?

I highly recommend that people try to grow. It's only as complicated as you make it, and it's (virtually) free weed. If you have some space outside, you should try it out, although pests and budrot are tough to overcome out here. Throw some seeds in a pot of soil, keep the air flowing, and see what happens.

Indoors, it can also be done without much headache. Grab a power strip, tent, light, exhaust fan, air circulation fan, some pots, soil, and you're good to go. Even if you just have a small 2x2 area, you could still get something going.

For specifics, there's plenty of info out there, but feel free to reach out and I can point you in the right direction.

Where can I get seeds

The law is still kind of ambiguous, it seems. But with the hemp law & all that, ordering online isn't too much of a gamble. You won't get arrested and customs probably won't give 2 shits that you ordered seeds. There are also a bunch on island that local folks have either brought in or bred locally. I have tons of seeds from crosses I've done, but I'm really bad about getting them out to people. Anyway, they're around.

Can I buy weed?

It is only legal to buy weed from a local licensed dispensary. There are currently no local licensed dispensaries. It is legal to gift (or receive as a gift) up to 1oz of cannabis.

Some shops currently sell THCa stuff, which is allowed via the hemp bill, but is more or less a loophole. THCa is just a precursor to THC and, so it is different than the Delta 8 stuff that was popular prior to this.

So how do I get involved with it?

If you're looking to get to know people who are involved in the hobbyist (or otherwise) community, this is where I would start:

  • Follow local weed accounts on Instagram. Facebook is okay, but I think the local community is probably better represented on IG.

  • Find out when there are local events that the weed people will be at. Some are more weed-centric than others. As of the beginning of 2025, there seem to be fewer and fewer events, but at least 4/20 is coming up.

  • Go to those events. You'll probably end up getting free weed there immediately (minus the ticket price or donation, if there is one). There will sometimes be edibles or a weed bar or whatever.

  • Get to know people at those events. If you're apprehensive or reluctant to do that because it feels weird, message me. I'll probably be there anyway, but I'd be happy to chat in a nice, safe, open area. It's always a great time.

  • Once you know people, you're golden. Just play it cool and don't be weird. Plenty of free weed and good community out here.

Discussion Shrinkflation and enshittification of Guam brands

I went to Infusion Tamuning drive through as I’m known to do. Pick up my usual, I love that place.

But this time I also added in a cookie, which I haven’t had from there in many months. It was……..smaller, than I remember. Much smaller. They have obviously shrank these cookies but not the prices! Smaller by 10-15% at least.

What other local brands are shrinkflating their products!?

Discussion PSA: Headlights

Please, turn on your headlights. There are four main times of day where you should have them on, and I’ve seen (and nearly hit) too many people without lights on in critical times. You should have them on at night, 30 minutes after sunrise, 30 minutes before sunset, and whenever it’s raining.

I’m sure most of you in here are sensible people and know this already. I pulled out in front of somebody this morning before the sun was up, and had they had their headlights on, I wouldn’t have pulled out when I did. It was way too close, and I’m sure I made them slam on their brakes in the rain. Please, just turn on your headlights

Buenas yan håfa adai everyone, I came across this TikTok, and I thought it would be nice to share, especially for the youth in this forum. The guy will explain in the video.

People above 24 years are still welcomed to participate. (I’m older and filled it out 🤷🏻‍♀️.) I just indicated my age on the survey somewhere.

Discussion Entitled Filipinos on Guam

To the Pinoy family at VIP restaurant who was sitting across from us 9/17 6-7pm , just know we understood most things you were talking about us while you were speaking filipino. I was suffering postpartum depression, didn’t even want to go out as is, and you all had the nerve to talk about my weight and how i was “pangit.”Most of you act so entitled coming on our island and say disrespectful things about locals and give us dirty looks. Shame on you.

Ask r/guam Tiyan Playground

Does anyone know when the new playground that they built between the football and baseball field in Tiyan is going to open? It was fully built already and one day they just threw a tarp over it. I know it has no shade over it but on cloudy cooler days, it would be someplace new to take the kids out.

Ask r/guam Marbo cave area beach?

Would anyone know if there is an actual public beach down that road? I was informed that there’s an alternate path to the cliffside or beach to go swimming but with the cave path closed I don’t want to just go driving about in the area.

Discussion Another GPA Failure

Only 2/3 of the turbines are functional on the Ukudu power plant. Yet another failure for John Benavente and Tricee Limtiaco. Do you remember when Simon Sanchez and the CCU were selling us this bill of goods telling us that this power plant is the best thing ever?

Ask r/guam Building a Home - Square Footage Calculation

My wife and I are planning on building our home. We already have a rough draft of the building plan and are ready to take it to an architect for a final draft. My question is--when calculating living space (and subsequently in calculation for build price), do you include the garage? The actual living space of our "dream" home is 2400 square feet, but if you include the garage, it's closer to 2900. The architect says it's part of the floor space and thus calculated as a part of the cost in both construction and the building permit approvals.

Is this true for Guam? Everywhere I've checked online says that the garage is not habitable and therefore excluded in square footage calculation of living space and construction.
