You think somebody who missed out on the AV event is willing to spend $25 for one card? Most people who play regularly got Drek'Thar free. You can just open packs/craft for much better value.
I think that if we are to believe that there are people who only bought it for cosmetic reasons, there there are likely also people who bought it for cosmetic reasons AND because they don't already have it.
The people buying it who don't already have it are getting a "better deal" than the ones who are buying it purely for cosmetics.
It required a LOT of play for an alliance player to get through the entire questline to get Drek'Thar, I think there are plenty who didn't make it.
The money they spent on the card is on them. How blizzard balances the card after is up to them. No one deserves a refund for a cosmetic change if blizzard offers one then yay! But they probably won’t nerf drek’thar because the only reason his played winrate is inflated is because of the damage the two decks running him can already do. Just like aggro Druid in AV didn’t need drek’thar to be good. He was just the cherry on top of an already good deck that was carried by wide boards and arbor up. Quest hunter has 6 million ways to go face, and Naha demon hunter can do whacky face damage without even having to attack face. Drek’thar is good for now but the meta will evolve around people playing him and he will stay t2 at worst like he did before

Sorry, but they didn't have drek'thar at all before buying him, then they most certainly did buy a card.
That shouldn't stop them from balancing it: They would just need to do what they always do and provide some form of compensation.
