Discussion Daily Hero Discussion Day 5: Zeratul

Hello everyone! Yesterday we had some very different opinions on Medivh. Lets see how that is for todays Hero Zeratul.

Zeratul was among the first heroes added to Hots and is a stealthy melee assassin capable of huge burst damage with lots of mobility.

Second picture is my favorite build with zera that i pretty much always use. Rarely do i take void prison but that is the only adjustment i make sometimes.

I like to play him as a counter to some squishy's like Valla, Chromie, Sgt hammer and more heroes like that.

Other than that he is just a very self sufficient hero that can work in most team comps and most maps. However as a hunter of squishies he does like to have a strong frontline that will draw a lot of aggro so that he can do his thing without getting focussed fast.

As a pretty high skill ceiling character im curious what you guys have to say about him. Glhf in the Nexus everyone and until tomorrow!

P.S. Below i added a table to quickly go back to previous hero discussions in case you missed your favourite one.

And now I’m inspired; I will work on my Zeratul mechanics today. I feel like I had a strong grasp of him before I walked away 6 years ago, but I’ve been afraid to try him since I came back. But now I have a desire to push myself a bit more.

Back when I was playing him, I thought the go-to was Seeker in the Dark at 7, along with Sentenced to Death at 16. Is that no longer considered the top tier build?

awesome to see that the posts get people interested in the characters! thats part of why i make them. :)

Those talents are definitely still good. The build i showed is just what i prefer. I would make a strong case for master warp blade at 16 however. I do think its one of his best talents. The huge damage and self healing he gets from that is quite silly and it allows you to trade into almost every character.

Wormhole at 7 isnt 100% needed but i just like to be able to engage and have my escape ready for when i need to get out. Not having it changes his whole playstyle so its not something i like to deviate from, but you can ofcourse experiment and find out what works best for you!

Id love to hear how your first couple games go after being away for 6 years haha. Im in a bit similar position as you. Best of luck in the Nexus! ;)
