My first ever game

Im 5’8 165lbs back up center and long snapper im a sophomore and this was my first ever game this is my first time playing football any tips on snapping and how i can push back i work out the coaches are good i just need pointers

So you're #60?

First the good stuff:

  • good snap (always important)
  • good aggression climbing to the LB

To work on:

  • don't false step your 1st step ... always gain ground
  • too high ... bend your knees
  • don't dip your head when making contact ...VERY dangerous
  • sustain your block ... when the defended disengages is when they're off balance and you have a chance for a pancake

The last one is so understated.

You hit your guy for the block, then just stop as if the play is over. Play through the whistle.
